My experience as a tenant in Bryant Lofts
Before you read this, please know that I am a very recent tenant and all of this is based on my honest experience. If you’re thinking about living here, don’t let the surface-level presentation fool you. This place is a perfect example of how a building can look passable on a tour and still be a complete nightmare to live in.
The construction quality is embarrassingly cheap. The very first time I plugged in an appliance, the outlet cover fell off. There were areas where the wood flooring was... lifting or warped, clearly showing neglect and cut corners. It felt slapped together, not built to last. You’ll quickly realize that this place was built for profit, not for people.
The insulation is terrible. The apartment was constantly cold in the winter, even when the heat was set at a reasonable temperature. I could feel cold air seeping in through the windows and around the AC unit. The windows were so poorly sealed that I had to wear layers indoors just to stay comfortable. Despite paying full rent, I was basically living in a drafty, freezing box.
Poor insulation continued.... Street noise is relentless. The windows are so poorly sealed that it feels like you’re living outside. There’s a bus stop right in front of the building that runs every 20 minutes. Even with your windows closed, you’ll hear every brake squeal, engine, and conversation. Forget peace and quiet. Forget working from home. There is no sound barrier between you and the street, or between you and your neighbors. Privacy and quiet simply do not exist here.
When I gave notice that I was leaving, they started touring my apartment to prospective tenants like I no longer lived there. I still had two months left on my lease. I got 24-hour notice texts and that was it. No respect, no coordination, no consideration. Total strangers walked through my personal space while I was still living in it. It felt invasive and violating. While permissible, it is incredibly WRONG.
Sure, there's an elevator (that jolts when you exit, which is super comforting).
And they offer parking (for a monthly fee, of course, but the street parking is fine anyway).
But let’s be honest. If you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering whether this apartment is worth it.
It’s not!!
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Not even temporarily. Save yourself the regret.
