Union Blacksburg

We have been very impressed with Hannah, the manager at Union Blacksburg. She has been very professional and extremely helpful during our entire rental process. Chip

The amenities are fine, slightly better than anywhere in town. However, the Wi-fi is dreadful. It’s been a year now and they are still yet to fix the issue. When it goes out, it will not return for who knows how long. Got a project due monday? Wi-fi goes out friday night you might get it back Wednesday. Not much point to all the study areas and other amenities they have when you can’t even access the online resources you need to study. It’s pointless and a waste of money. They charge wayyyyy too... much to have as many issues as they do. They’re also the only place in the area with this issue. Lee mas

Don't get fooled by the good reviews, they had a promotion going on and were asking everyone to submit a 5 star review in exchange of some goodies or raffle tickets or something like that....
Even though the amenities seem to be “nice”, you don’t really get to use it because you have to spend most of your time somewhere else if you need to have WIFI and get your work done
So stay away unless you want to live in a black hole where you NEVER have access to Internet because their internet service... is crappy and has outages like 4x a week or after 11 PM on most nights so you basically can't get any work done and for some reason the phone service in the complex is terrible so using mobile data as a backup is not an option.
And the management keeps saying these internet outages were a "isolated occurrences" and notifies us of a 5-day scheduled internet outage and somehow still manages to cut the internet off 2 days before that to screw us even more. This place is a joke ... Lee mas

As a college student, I believe the quality of amenities and living spaces are nice. Everything works properly, as expected of a new apartment complex. However, the WiFi they use is horrendous. Reviews for Single Digit are bad, and if you check other review systems, you can see that it translates to Union Blacksburg having horrible reviews as well. Mine is just one of many. There are crashes that last for days each week and has issues more times than I can count per day (WIFI shutting off for no... reason, browsers taking incredibly long to load, etc). All of this is not good for a college student, and this has actually been causing more headaches than anything imaginable. I understand the fault is not with Union Blacksburg, but I've talked with people at other apartments with similar or lower price ranges, and they have no issue with WiFi, which begs the question: why do they stick with Single Digits' services? If they switch large building WiFi services, it would be a 5 star apartment. Do not come to this property if you plan on living anymore than 2 hours a day in it, because the WiFi will prevent you from doing any homework. Lee mas
