Just don't
I moved into Riverpark last August in my first apartment experience since I was in college. I love the proximity to the river trail and the walkability to the downtown area. However...
I have spent the last 10 months being tortured most mornings between 4-6 a.m. by the backup beeps of the hotel van at the Hyatt next door and was unable to resolve this when I first moved in despite multiple attempts to move to another unit on the backside of the property.
Since new ownership in January, we... have endured weeks and weeks of trash everywhere and very seldom are the recycling bins on our floor not overflowing, sometimes so badly that you can't even enter the room.
I've had one package delivered here in March and it was stolen. My newspaper has been stolen more times than I can count. My daughter's boyfriend has had his car stolen or broken into 4 times in the parking garage when visiting.
And now, two months away from my upcoming move precipitated by all this, I've been dealing for the past four days with my smoke alarm beeping about every minute or two since its battery backup is dead. You know that feeling you get when you've been on an all-night flight and only slept for a few minutes here and there? That's been my experience for the past three nights and yet despite multiple visits to the office I'm still being told it's not an emergency. My dog has been on high alert and extremely stressed for four days due to this, has not eaten, is shaking and in constant fight or flight mode and yet they continue to tell me I'm "in the queue". Yep, I'm in the queue to leave.
