A sprawling section of Hollywood dubbed “the Hills” encompasses several secluded neighborhoods and landmarks just northwest of the city. This is where you will find the iconic Hollywood sign, perched atop Mount Lee. The Hollywood Hills are also home to some of the city’s most well-known canyon roads, including Mulholland Drive and Laurel Canyon. Some of Hollywood’s most secretive stars retreated to the hills to escape the buzz of the city, and today it’s where you’ll find some of the most impressive homes in the area. Locals head to Beachwood Canyon, Lake Hollywood Park, or Wattles Garden Park to hike and get a view of the City of Angels. The 101 Freeway cuts through the Hollywood Hills, as do other canyon roads that make it easy to get back into the city.
