The Presidio is a vibrant San Francisco neighborhood situated on the northern end of the peninsula. A 1,500-acre park that was once the site of San Francisco’s fort, the Presidio is a unique neighborhood in that it’s one of few places in the city where residential developments are completely enveloped in greenery. With incredible views of the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz, the Presidio showcases everything residents and visitors love about this Bay Area city. Locals head to Baker Beach, Marshall’s Beach, or Crissy Field to soak up some sun and enjoy the view. There aren’t many restaurants within the Presidio. Most dining options reside on the eastern and southern edge of the park. Rentals in the Presidio remain slightly under the cost of those in the rest of San Francisco, and you’ll find apartments surrounded by trees with incredible views of the water.
