Poor
I have been living at Brookside for about five years, and because I have enjoyed living here, I decided to transfer to a larger unit. Unfortunately, the turnover experience has been very disappointing and has made me second-guess my decision to move.
The unit was not properly turned over before I moved in. The kitchen cabinets were in very poor condition and looked like they needed to be replaced. I had to track down the maintenance supervisor myself after a GRU employee advised me that the... cabinets should be replaced.
My front door is also in poor condition. I have to hold it tightly shut just to lock it properly, and the paint is peeling badly. In addition, the interior doors in the unit do not even match the door hinges, which reflects the lack of attention given during the turnover process.
A maintenance technician informed me that a new mirror had been ordered for my children’s bathroom. However, after seeing that I had attempted to make the current mirror work, it seems the replacement was no longer considered necessary. I still expect the new mirror to be installed, as originally promised.
I feel that I am paying too much money in rent to live in a unit that was not properly prepared and made ready for a new tenant. In my previous unit, I had very few issues. My only major concern was when the apartment flooded and the carpet was never replaced. Other than that, my previous unit was well maintained and I was very satisfied.
I am requesting that these issues be addressed as soon as possible. I would appreciate a response regarding when the necessary repairs and replacements will be completed.
