Decling Quality, Poor Management
I’ve lived at Channel Club for five years now in two different apartments, and it’s honestly sad to watch how much this place has declined.
Over the past few months alone there have been three different property managers, and the instability shows everywhere. Basic building management feels completely absent. There has been broken glass scattered across the parking lot for days at a time in what is advertised as a “dog friendly” community. Elevators are frequently out of service. At one point... the entire building had no working elevators for several days. This is a 22-story building. Imagine walking that multiple times a day because management cannot keep the elevators operational.
Parking and guest access are another disaster. The towing situation is extremely aggressive. Guest passes require an in-person process that feels more like an interview than a simple request for people to visit you. If you plan to have family or friends visit, be prepared to warn them they may get towed. There is essentially no guest parking. The building has hundreds of apartments and about eight guest spots. That’s it. If guests park at Publix, they will be towed as well.
Security and cleanliness have also deteriorated. Stairwells smell like urine, and there have been multiple occasions where homeless individuals were sleeping in elevator lobbies. That should never be happening in a building that charges the rent this place does.
What’s most disappointing is that this used to feel like a great place to live. The location is excellent and the building itself has a lot of potential. But the current management team appears completely overwhelmed by a property of this size. The lack of organization, maintenance, and basic resident consideration has become impossible to ignore.
After five years here, it’s honestly just sad to see what this building has turned into. Anyone considering moving here should understand that the experience today is very different from what it used to be.
