I moved to the Haven about 3 months ago all the way from the Northeast. My boyfriend and I had to do our apartment search remotely and came to the decision to go with the Haven since it was affordable and looked nice. We packed up all of our stuff and drove all the way to Florida (which is a 16 hour drive) just to be told the day of that our apartment wasn’t ready. This was a HUGE inconvenience since we also had our family with us on this drive and tried to thoroughly plan out our day in advance... . I will give the leasing office credit and say that they did compensate us for that then, but it was off to a terrible start. Since then, we have heard multiple shootings in the parking lot. It doesn’t help that the gate is broken and has been broken since we got here, so anyone could get in. Not to mention, when we first pulled up here the neighborhood looked very sketchy. I definitely don’t feel safe here and they always happen in the middle of the night which is the worse thing to wake up to. The parking lot is also not very clean… We see roaches, glass and food on the ground all the time. The inside of our apartment itself is really nice and that is the only reason why this gets 2 stars, we came to all new appliances and a completely redone place. However, we will not be renewing our lease.
