Be careful
I’ll do my best to be nice here. The staff is friendly, I loved my tour. I put in an application 4 days ago which consisted of a standard application fee and then a 400 deposit/get the apartment ready/admin fee. Fine. So I’m out of state and my house closing has fallen through last minute. So in other words, I won’t be moving and I have no idea when as we have to restart our home selling process. I called to see if I could get the 400 deposit back as I won’t be moving in (understanding... the 50 dollar application fee was non refundable). I was told nope because it’s company policy and only if I had cancelled within 24 hours… okay first of all, I only applied a few days ago, secondly this is an extremely extenuating circumstance, I was supposed to move in 2 weeks so this was unexpected for me. I spoke with Mark the manager and although he was nice he said he simply just can’t due to policy. And I said I still would like to move there I just have no idea when it’s going to be now, and I don’t want my money being held hostage, but I’d happily pay it again on a new apartment once
I know my house is sold and when I’m actually moving. The only thing they could offer was to put me on the waitlist and not charge 100 dollars for that. I really am not okay with the business practice. Mind you I was kind and courteous. I would have been a wonderful tenant but after this experience I had to think about what other shady practices are being done that I’d be walking into when they can’t refund a deposit for an apartment Im not even going to move into and it’s not as if I held it for a month, literally 3 business days. Very disappointed in this experience and would love to talk to someone above Mark about this. (Whoever would be above on property management)
In other words you better be sure you want to live here because you have to pay the deposit with the application fee, they won’t just let you do the application which is also, bad business. Very disappointed because it’s a nice building and they now lost out on a wonderful tenant.

We are very sorry that circumstances have changed and you are no longer able to move in. We must treat all applicants equally by following the terms listed on the application you signed. We are happy to assist once you are able to resume your... apartment search and hope you will consider Reside. We do appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. Please feel free to call me if you would like to discuss the situation at 773-248-3132.
Sincerely,

Quiet But Tiny
Quiet building with a communal patio with strung lights overhead, and gas grill in the rear. The apartment itself is pretty small and not much closet or storage space. The bathroom is very tiny. Great newly refinished wood floors, updated appliances and a decent amount of natural light.
