After 2 years living
When we first came to the U.S., we lived here for two years. We initially stayed in a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment, and later moved to a two-bedroom, two-bathroom one.
Starting with the positives: it’s a very peaceful and centrally located community. The staff are always friendly and eager to help. Whenever we needed maintenance, they came by the next day at the latest and took care of everything. The neighbors are respectful, and there are frequent community events that make it easy to... socialize — which is a wonderful opportunity, especially during the first years in a new country. It’s also animal-friendly.
As for the downsides: the walls are very thin, and you can even hear your neighbors sneezing. The AC motor is in a room that’s connected to the bedroom, so the noise can be quite loud at night. The ventilation system is quite old, so it doesn’t heat or cool the apartment quickly. In the laundry area, the sliding door makes it impossible to open both the washer and dryer at the same time. The refrigerator is very small, and there’s no built-in lighting in the living room, so you have to buy your own lamps.
Overall, we were satisfied during our two years here, but the issues I mentioned — especially the AC noise — were sometimes challenging. Still, we look back on our time here with fond memories.
