Reveal on Cumberland Apartments

I would leave zero stars if I could! REVEAL on Cumberland in Fishers, Indiana is an extremely unprofessional and mismanaged apartment complex. I am making a cross country move from California to Indiana and have been visiting properties virtually. The renting process while being out of state is already difficult and this company has been extremely shady in the process. I submitted an application for a 1 bedroom apartment to be rented November 27th. My application was approved and it appeared… everything was starting to align. They require you to set-up an energy account with Duke energy and update your insurance before they will provide you a lease to sign. I did both of these steps. A week after my application was approved I got a call from the property manager stating actually the unit I applied to would no longer be available. At this point the application should have been void. Instead he offered two other units with similar floor plans, I was thrown off guard so said sure I'd be willing to receive a quote, but I mistakenly presumed they would void my original application because what I applied for no longer was available. Instead, they just changed my application and account to the new available units WITHOUT MY CONSENT! It now becomes my issue and I am out an application fee/admin fee (which is a joke since their admin do not help prospective tenants and do not answer the phone). This is extremely unprofessional to expect someone to be liable for fees when they could not guarantee the apartment. BEWARE OF THIS SHADY PROPERTY! I have recommended to a friend. That friend recommended to a family member who was moving from Illinois to Indiana. From what I have heard she has had a horrible experience. When she arrive with her moving truck her apartment was not ready. It had not been cleaned at all. They had to put her up in a hotel. She had to pay the movers extra for the extended days.
