Alight West Lafayette

1. They charge you for anything and everything- when my roommate and I moved out just a couple weeks ago this is what they are charging us for : handprints on mirrors, our furniture being “old”, leaving JUST a bottle of hand sanitizer behind, mulch on our patio, and for white fingerprints on couch/dust on walls/ceiling left behind by their very OWN construction crew. How do we get charged for OLD furniture?!?!
2. Staff took forever to respond and was NOT nice at all- kept harassing me asking me… why I was leaving alight and where I was living next year
3. I would wake up at 5 in the morning listening to their staff JAMMING to music and talking/laughing loudly (I know it was staff bc I lived near the maintenance)
4. My neighbor they couldn’t figure out their heating issue and alight allowed them to live in 100 degree living conditions for weeks
5. MAINTENANCE SUCKS and takes FOREVER and charges you for STUPID things

I honestly use to love that I am living at alight they did many giveaways and it really seemed that they cared about their residents. However as soon I had issues that was sometimes their fault, the managment did not care and made me deal with it. First my roomates and I had a huge mold problem at the apartment, I got mold on many of my clothing items and Shoes that I had to throw away, which really sucked. second, two times I had packages  that were said to have been delivered however when I… tried to pick them up from the office they said they didn't have them. This happened on two Seperate occasions. They provided me no help at all and I had to go contact Usps and back to the office While they literally did nothing about it. They didn't express concern or asked to provide help. However, I was very understanding because I knew mixup happens. However when it came to a situation that was not my fault they showed no empathy. Rent was due January 1, I paid rent on that day and had the money in my account. However, January 2 someone hacked my account and stole $500 Which is basically almost all the money I had, since my Job was temporarily out due to COID. Alight didn't Pull my money until 4 days after I paid the rent and after my money was stolen. Alight's payment was rejected and they gave me extra charges because of it. I still paid my rent after the bank was able to give me some of my stolen money back. I explained to them my situation and provided Proof, However, they refused to take those Charges away and are focing me to pay it. As a college Student and someone who just got almost all of their money Stolen I really expected them to have some empathy, however they did not. When you want to move out, they charge you for many unreasonable excuses!
They do not provide good service for maintenance!
I do not recommend this apartment at all!!

I love the freedom of of campus living. Great place to live with lots of great community features. The shuttle to campus is reliable, but a little inconvenient because it is so far away. The apartments themselves are very nice. The maintenance staff is very helpful. The only problem is thwith distance from Purdue's campus.
