Horrible Experience with Corporate
I moved into a brand new unit in May. The unit was nice, onsite staff AMAZINGLY friendly & willing to help with anything, community of people has been great. About 5 weeks ago, I noted carpeting in the master suite was wet & couldn't figure out why for a couple of days, trying different things. I discovered the floor was soaked due to the a/c unit draining into the wall behind bed. This was reportedly due to an 8-10" pipe failing to be installed in the installation as reported by ZIP HVAC... services. In finding this out, I found out it had caused extreme mold/mildew to a piece of my bedroom furniture ruining it, as well as personal items. I brought this to their attention & the local onsite staff quickly started maintenance, but had to cut into the brand new wall, etc. & make repairs which has lasted for about 4 weeks now of back & forth. Corporate refused to replace my nightstand to my bedroom unit citing no responsibility because it was a "pipe" issue (yeah one you failed to get installed when putting this unit in). They JUST last week scheduled for carpet cleaning to attempt to remove the mold/mildew failing to even move the affected furniture in the most prevalent area. I had been having extreme headaches & couldn't figure out why prior to discovering this mold/mildew, not requiring even a migraine pill for 5 years before this started. At no point did they offer to move me to a furnished apartment while I was dealing with this in my own, where I am enduring the mold/mildew, still with headaches, nonstop drywall dust/sand debris, requiring dusting daily just to avoid any further harm to self. I recently contacted Dillon Woods of Corporate office of Shamrock Communities after I had also reached out to Ellen Weinstein (CEO) of corporate who never acknowledged me in any of my attempts. In speaking with Mr. Woods, he stated it was not their place to ask if I would like to be relocated while doing the repairs (although no one had even told me I could request this either-newby with apartment rentals), that it was my place to request this. Further, telling me that while he is sorry all this is/was happening to me, they are not willing to do anything to offer any type of concessions or even reduce my rent for at least this month that I have been dealing with this, being so unapologetic & apathetic to it all, resulting in the negative reviews, I am assuring others are aware of the lack of true regard for you as a tenant in a place like this.
