My daughter submitted a maintenance request on Jan 30 and the repairs have yet to be completed. They came home to find the kitchen ceiling light filling up with water due to a leak above. There was no action taken from maintenance until Feb 6, when the entire wet ceiling light fell from the ceiling and shattered on the floor. When maintenance finally did show up on Feb 6, they cut a massive hole in the ceiling and left a giant dehumidifier running. A month later they finally came back to... patch the hole. They left all their tools, the dehumidifier, and wires hanging from the ceiling. In other words, almost 3 months later, the repairs have not been completed. As a result of the dehumidifier running, the utility bill for this 2 bedroom apartment is over $300!!!!! In addition to this chaos, my daughter received a letter regarding renovations that are to be completed next week. She has been given specific instructions for each day of the week regarding removal of all her belongings so the renovation can be completed each day. She literally has to clean out the cabinets, remove all wall hangings, counters, closet, EVERYTHING so renovations can be done. This is ridiculous, These apartments are vacant for 3 weeks at the end of summer before classes start - why would the renovations not be done during that time. This is very stressful for those studying and working. The other complaint I have is that her mailing address is incorrect on her lease and her mail has been delivered to the opposite side of the street which caused more chaos. We have requested compensation and are waiting to hear back.
We have been very disappointed with this apartment. The location is convenient and parking is fine with a monthly parking fee. However, the utilities are outrageous and maintenance is lacking.
