Avoid Avoid Avoid

I would strongly advise anyone considering this apartment complex to look elsewhere. Living here has been extremely frustrating.
Management is unresponsive and seems to do the bare minimum when it comes to addressing issues. On top of that, residents are constantly being nickel-and-dimed for extra fees, which quickly adds up.
Safety is also a major concern. There is little to no security, and if your car is broken into or vandalized, you’re essentially on your own with no support from management… .
The overall upkeep of the property is very poor. There is dog waste left around the grounds, and the pool is frequently dirty and not properly maintained.
If I had known what living here would be like, I absolutely would have chosen somewhere else. I’m very unhappy and cannot recommend this place to anyone.

We have had the same management team for many, many years and have long-term stable ownership that regularly invests and improves the community. Our team works incredibly hard to provide a good living experience for our residents. With all that… said, there are some things that are out of our control.

Pet waste is honestly an issue for most apartment communities. We have a dedicated groundskeeper that does his best to keep the grounds looking great, including picking up after pets. We supply bags and waster bins, so there is not a great excuse for residents not to pick up after their pets but the reality is what the reality is. There are not great solutions to this common problem.

As for car break-ins, these are frustrating to us as well as we know how upsetting it is to experience. While this issue is not overly common at our community compared to the rest of the market, it still happens from time-to-time. Criminals tend to target apartment communities for this crime as there are so many cars and not a lot of foot traffic in the middle of the night. The best thing we can recommend is to report the car break-in to the police to help increase police presence in the area.

SAVE YOURSELF STRESS AND MONEY

My review is too long to fit… Absolutely terrible. Money trap for anyone who lives there. The other reviews talking about the fees are true. especially dont live there if you have pets. you get nothing back for them none of the money you pay goes towards anything and they send your bill to collections immediately with no notice. Please find someone else to live! Need to do better at explaining prices and being upfront.

We appreciate all feedback from our current and former residents. While we are unable to discuss specific account details in a public forum, we’d like to share general information about our move-out process.

Upon move-out, residents may be charged… for damages beyond normal wear and tear, including any pet-related damage. Monthly pet rent does not apply toward or offset repair costs. Prior to move-in, residents sign a Schedule of Charges that outlines potential fees for cleaning or damages assessed at move-out.

Former residents are not immediately sent to collections. A final statement is provided within 30 days of move-out, and former residents have an additional 30 days to dispute charges. All assessed charges are documented, including photos taken at move-out. If a balance remains unpaid and no communication or payment arrangements are made, accounts may be referred to a third-party collection agency approximately 60–90 days after move-out.

Our team makes every effort to work with residents to resolve balances and answer questions before any further action is taken. It is never our goal to have unhappy residents, and we wish you the best in your next community.

Great Community Atmosphere

After owning a home for almost 30 years I decided to sell and rent! My son and I moved to The Plantations at Lafayette in late May of 2024. We absolutely love it. The staff has been very hospitable and attentive to our needs. The apartment is clean and quiet. The maintenance crew has been great. I feel safe here. We are close to many great restaurants and stores. There is definite room for some grounds improvement and updating exterior items, but for the most part, they are in great shape! The… inside of our apartment was updated. Love the garden tub and large master closet!

Don’t do it*****

I would put zero stars if it let. Save yourself some money and go rent a house, townhouse or condo from an actual person who cares about their renters. This is a big corporate money hungry company and will squeeze every penny out of you when you try to move out at the end of your lease. And then add on a $1,000 cleaning fee no matter how clean your apartment was when you moved out.

Reviews such as these leave me very conflicted. I always like to take the reviews seriously and respond as such but there are so many flagrant inaccuracies in this review it is difficult.

We are not a big corporation. We are a family owned… business and never charge exuberant fees upon move-out. In fact, when you move-in you sign a Schedule of Charges that outlines what you will be charged for at move-out if you damage any items or don't leave the apartment in the same condition you received it in. We do not charge for normal wear and tear.

We have a great team and our property is truly exceptional. I hope that people will take this review with a grain of salt and stop by the community to judge for themselves.

Inviting

I've lived here a year now, and have really enjoyed staying here. It's a family friendly and dog friendly community. It's a quiet area but has very nice amenities that I have found great on multiple occasions especially the gym, computer lab, and conference room.
