The leasing staff especially did a great job explaining amenities and providing information towards the building. They thoroughly clarified any concerns and questions I had being transparent honest, not just giving me answer that I wanted to hear. I loved how peaceful the environment was in the building, seems to be composed of mostly graduate students in healthcare workers, which is amazing. But nonetheless Moe and her male colleague did a great job, making me feel welcomed and informing me of... deals and tips.

Keep Looking & save your money
If your search is time sensitive please search elsewhere. I hate to write reviews, but I have to elaborate on my experience applying here. I would hate for the next person to be shortened out of their hard earned money the way I was, so my review is solely to bring awareness to those after me. Throughout my process there was a complete lack of empathy, common courtesy, and ethical practice. I’ll begin by saying the holding/ reservation fee is a compete scam. They will stall and take your money.... Using their leasing agents at the forefront, they will systematically avoiding routine application updates for 2 weeks just to keep your money (keep in mind during the two weeks they close early on Saturday , they’re closed on Sunday, and barely even answer the phone).
First, they’ll begin by telling you that they are still “processing” your application. When you apply they provide you with this misconception that the fee you’re paying is a holding deposit that reserves your unit, and goes toward your first month’s rent - NO. It is indeed going into their pockets. This will be right before they cease all communication, and put the unit you paid to reserve back on their marketing website as “available for rent.” Once that two week time frame expires, they’ll re-open the unit you reserved to new applicants. This rinse & repeat method is an ongoing cycle they use to bring in revenue to mitigate their losses. It’s unfortunate that this egregious “business” they are operating will go the mile of using scandalous and ambiguous tactics just to keep the lights on in the building. Please, if you’re searching there are several other rental properties in the inner city of Baltimore to rent from. Save your money.

$175 for an occasional parking spot
Okay place to live if you’re fine paying $175 per month for a parking spot that the security guards use occasionally. They are super quick to tow any car that is not authorized to park in a spot, however, if it’s one of the security guards apparently it’s fine?? I came home one evening to someone parked in my spot so I had to go inside and tell security so they could get it moved/towed. Turns out it was the security guards and I got no apology for the inconvenience (much less an offer to... compensate me for the day of free parking he got), in turn he said “why are you just saying something now?” as I was just getting in from a weekend out of town. Not sure why I should even have to go through the inconvenience of contacting the security guards every time I leave because who knows if someone will take my spot when I’m the one paying $175 per month. Also don’t bother calling the security desk after you’re a resident because they won’t answer or return your call. Overall, security is pretty unreliable to help with very basic requests. They really just don’t want to be bothered in general. Other than security, my experience has been overall okay. I will say the manager did really work with my requests/needs for an extension on my lease (not overly nicely, but did in the end make it happen). Just every time you renew your lease, get ready for the key fob and garage opener to not work until they give you access again. Not sure how this has happened each time in the past five years (and mostly likely to every resident) and they still haven’t caught on and done anything to avoid it but it’s a super big inconvenience. Also the coffee in the lobby only works 50% of the time so definitely don’t move here if you think you’re getting coffee every morning.

Do not live here
They scam you out of all your money and management is awful. Still haven’t received my pet deposit or security deposit back. You have to HARASS them to get any deposit or they’ll never give it to you. Don’t live in this shady place!

Camden Court is a great place to live!
When I came for a tour, there were nurses and doctors in the main area, which said to me that, right off the bat, this was probably a great complex and a great area to live in. I was not disappointed.
The building was built in 2005 and many apartments were renovated again in 2015 (to my knowledge). Even the lowest upgraded apartments are really quite nice. My apartment is spacious and, combined with the location, is a really fair price for the area.
The staff, Deanna, Brad, Moe, the Head... of Maintenance (apologies as I’ve forgotten his name), Moe, Nicole, and a couple other front desk people are amazing.
The previous tenants slightly broke the ice tray and removed the glass bottom of the refrigerator. Deanna kindly filed service requests for me and maintenance was really very timely. The two aforementioned issues were things I didn’t really see until after move in because of the optical illusion of the reflection of the glass doors. In fact, I didn’t notice until after I tried to put something on the shelf that there wasn’t anything there, so there is really no way anyone would have noticed in the inspection of the apartment after the previous tenant.
I’ve been here about a month now and the apartment is great. Everyone is quite and courteous. It’s really great to have security and 24 hour concierge. My school suggested Camden Court among other places, but Camden Court really blew me away with how kind everyone was and how beautiful the apartments are.
There are two more things I want to address before I end my review: the fire department next door and disability.
The fire department is located quite literally next door. It’s not at all a problem for me. I’m on the side closest to the fire department and I’ve never been woken up at all by the noise. It’s a city, so there can be outside noise, but I haven’t felt that it’s been prohibitive of anything. I am higher up in the building, but still.
Lastly, I have a motor disability and Deanna was really great working with me to get a parking space inside the garage attached to the apartments. It’s a handicap space and she even gave me options to pick from! Camden Court has been very disability friendly from my experience so far, so, if that’s something that matters to you, this is a good place to be.
