I lived in this building for 2 years and initially had a great experience under the previous management company. Unfortunately, things changed dramatically after the new company took over.

The new leasing team was extremely difficult to deal with. Agents would promise things over the phone or email and later deny or reverse what was said. When we gave our 60-day notice, a leasing agent twice told us we were “all set” to move into another unit with a better rate if we stayed. Both times he later...
said the unit had been given to someone else. After the notice window passed, management suddenly claimed we hadn’t provided proper notice and said we’d have to renew month-to-month at nearly 3× our rent. It felt incredibly predatory.

When we moved out, they also deducted large charges from our security deposit, including FIVE hours of painting for floorboards that were damaged by mold caused by poor construction around the shower.

If you complain or suggest changes, they quote policies back to you, which is simply poor customer service. One time I had a same-day delivery delivered to the front desk while I was at work, and they fully let someone else take the package without verifying their identity, and then made it my fault that I was at work when it was delivered.

We also had a really disappointing experience when trying to reserve the rooftop for a private event. After initially booking it, management bumped our reservation in favor of a longer (and presumably more profitable) one. This forced us to scramble and rethink plans at the last minute, which was extremely stressful.

Other issues included thin walls, frequent rat noises in the pipes/walls, poorly managed package rooms, and amenities that were often unavailable or broken (pool access issues, elevators down, coffee machine frequently out of order). Carpets in the hallways and common areas, as well as the elevators, often smelled because they didn't clean them often. Elevators were consistently out of order and never repaired at the time they said they would be.

It’s disappointing because the building itself has potential and the location is great. But under the current management company, the experience deteriorated significantly. There are much better buildings in the area with leasing agents to work with who are actually professional, much better lease renewal rates, and a better experience overall.

A Place We Call Home

We recently moved to Griffis Edgemoor after searching for a new home for many months and we love the building and management. Stan is amazing!! and he graciously assisted my husband and me from the first day we toured the community. He gave us an enjoyable tour of the lovely building, and his confidence in the place we now call home was contagious. Stan was available to us throughout the entire process and provided first class service and Griffis Edgemoor is blessed to have a friendly and... knowledgeable manager working with current and future residents. We look forward to enjoying our new home and all of the amenities.

It ain't get any better than this place

I have had the pleasure of calling Griffis Edgemoor home for the past 14 months, and I can confidently say it has been an extraordinary experience. Formerly known as Maizon Bethesda, the building underwent a change in management late last year. Since then, the exceptional service has not only been maintained but has visibly improved. The new management's efforts to enhance community involvement are truly commendable, fostering a warm and connected atmosphere that feels both welcoming and... inclusive.

A standout feature of Griffis Edgemoor is its incredible staff. Leasing consultant Brandon, who has been there since our initial intake, has exemplified stability and dedication, making interactions with the staff feel almost like engaging with friends and family. The familiarity and care they bring to their work are invaluable in creating such a comfortable living environment.

The maintenance team is another shining star here—always proactive and efficient. The hallways are spotless, receiving deep cleaning twice a year, and every detail of the building is meticulously cared for. Griffis Edgemoor boasts top-notch amenities, including an amazing rooftop, a luxurious penthouse lounge, a sparkling pool with inviting cabanas, and a well-equipped gym frequented by dedicated athletes. These facilities elevate the living experience to a whole new level.

Property and Team

I love living at Maizon Bethesda because of Joelle and Phoenix, both employees' make living here quite the experience. This is my first time living in an apartment community. While it has been the adjustment, I am having a blast. Both Joelle and Phoenix are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The setting of this community is very cozy and clean. This is the dream of working professional. If there are any units available, I will urge anyone to gather this experience.
