They don’t care about tenants safety

I have had numerous issues with this building since the new landlord took over. They don’t respond to issues (big or small) such as having no heat in the winter, water leaks, and stray bullet shells being in the parking lot. You have to jump through hoops to get a response to any issue. I would not recommend renting here.

Almost moved in, but we caught ourselves

This place has no reviews anywhere, so I figured I'd be the first to write a review. The place itself is nice. I couldn't tell you what it's actually like living there, since we changed our minds about moving in, but it's cute. Lots of space, especially storage space, cute balcony, wonderful area close to Old Ellicott City. Ugly kitchen, but it seems functional. Also no real amenities; they're mostly just selling you on the space and the location.

However, I'm not sure how I feel about...
management. We wanted to know what the terms were for early lease termination, and we were told we'd be able to move out with no fees as long as we provided 60 days' notice. We then applied, paid the application fee, and received the lease. Oh boy, just a quick suggestion, ask to see the lease before applying. It's basically a book riddled with plot holes. We then saw that to terminate the lease, we'd have to pay $500 PLUS two more months of rent beyond the end of the lease term. Soooo almost $4,000, even with 60 days' notice. Didn't like that. We asked for clarification about it, and they basically told us we weren't understanding it correctly and they interpreted it differently. My whole family read it and agreed that it clearly stated the $4,000. It even said that word of mouth didn't change the contract, so how could we possibly feel comfortable with that? And THEN they decided to tell us we'd still have to pay $300 for having an ESA (which I checked and is definitely against Maryland law). Just can't trust a place like this that doesn't seem very educated about their own contract or the state in which they do business. Again, a lovely place, and if you're okay with the rigid contract, maybe it would be for you. Wasn't for us.
