If I could give negative stars, I would give The Crossing at Russett a -5. This has truly been the worst living experience of my life.

I’m not writing this to vent—I’m writing this to warn others. I’m sharing my honest experience so you don’t make the same mistake I did.

Despite paying rent and utilities on time, I had to move out a full month before my lease ended because the conditions had become completely unbearable — and unsafe. I still paid for... that final month, even though I no longer lived there, because management refused to take any responsibility or acknowledge their failure to uphold the lease agreement. Apparently, only tenants are expected to follow the rules — not the property management.

Some of the issues I experienced:

Trash and filth everywhere, including inside and around common areas

Unleashed pit bulls and other dogs creating dangerous situations

No maintenance response — broken fixtures and common areas left in disrepair

Strong urine odor in hallways and stairwells from pet waste

Homeless individuals inside the gym (yes, I have photos)

Incredibly rude and unprofessional staff

A general feeling of being ignored, disrespected, and unsafe

Star is a great leasing agent. That is all I can say positive. The lack of care about maintenance makes me regret my decision to move here. It has been 2 weeks and it is like pulling nails to get anything fixed that was already supposed to be fixed. You can barely ever talk to an actual manager and if you do, things still don't get done. Apartments are cute but not well maintained by property.

It’s a nice complex, apartment maintenance is a hit or miss. Great area to be in and commute options, no crimes. Grass area should be cut more often. Rent increases every year. Moments when water is off for hours at least twice a year.

Since my initial move here over a decade ago, I have enjoyed the people working and living in my community. For me, the location has been essential for my business days and now my free time!

In January, we were looking for a new home and encountered Star who assisted us with a tour and we immediately fell in love with the property based off the tour alone. We put our application in and the process was hassle free and smooth with ample communication. The property manager Tabatha was great to work with to accommodate our needs and expectations for our new home. When we moved in there were a couple small maintenance issues however within a week they were all resolved by their... productive and speedy maintenance team. This community is by far the best community I have encountered living in Maryland (I'm not from here) as it is well maintained, quiet, and in a very serene area.
