Sussex Square Apartments

I finally moved out of this place after living here for 4 years, and honestly I feel blessed to be out. For over 3 years, I dealt with mold in my HVAC vents and closet. Every summer I reported the AC leaking multiple times, and nothing was ever properly fixed. It got so bad that I kept videos and pictures of the HVAC closet in case they tried to charge me for damages when I moved out.

Safety was also a concern. Someone was shot here about two years ago, and as far as I know, security was never... increased afterward. The kids from Suitland High School constantly smoke in the laundry rooms and leave ashes all over the washers and dryers, especially in building 2307.

Management changes constantly. During my time here, there were at least 4 different property managers. There are also many reviews mentioning mice and rats. I personally didn’t experience that until my last couple weeks moving out, which may have been due to neighbors in the building.

The maintenance team seems overwhelmed because residents are constantly dealing with HVAC leaks, noise complaints, and cars being broken into. The pricing is affordable, but you definitely pay for it in other ways. In the summer, the apartments get unbearably hot whenever you cook or even walk around because of the HVAC issues.

The pool is another issue — it’s always crowded with loud kids, and the lifeguards don’t seem to care much about enforcing rules or maintaining order.

Overall, it’s disappointing because this community could be much better if management invested in staffing, maintenance, and updated HVAC systems so residents don’t have to deal with mold. If you live on the bottom floor of building 2307, I strongly recommend getting a mold testing kit.

This was the wrost place I have ever lived would i recommend it ABSOLUTELY NOT!! But the Property Manager Mark is amazing he does all he can with what he has. I love him he is professional and respectable and goes above and beyond.

DO NOT MOVE HERE UNLESS U WANT TO LIVE WITH THE ROACHES , they will take over your whole house . Maintenance doesn’t fix anything I was living here for 1 year and I was never able to use my outlet plug’s in my living room because they never fixed it before I moved in or after . This property is dirty I had new couch and it got infested by the roaches in the unit . I never ever had roaches prior to living here .

Susex Square are over rated apartment homes poorly keep. The management is poor .The apartments are roach infested plumbing is always backed up there is mold growing on the walls toilet and in the shower .This is the worst apartment every in my life just coming home upset me. It's really time for them to upgrade these places everything is old and molded.

This is my place that I can call home,in my name only,very spacious,plenty of closet space,,living room is large,the community is quite ,and neat,24hour maintenance,11 minutes away from the subway station,will recommend to family or friends,school near by,and bus stop.
