Nob Hill Apartments

Yes, the buildings are older and the kitchens are small, but the structures are solid and warm in the winter - neighbor noise is minimal. The staff in the office is helpful and prompt. Maintenance does a great job of clearing snow and ice quickly, and are super professional and respectful when they come into your unit.

"Walkable to Downtown A2 and on-site free parking", these are my favorite amenities available at Nob Hill. Additionally, the leasing office staff are wonderful. I primarily work with Kendall who is very receptive and overall terrific. Also, the maintenance company is very responsive and addresses any issues brought to their attention promptly. There is a mix of tenants (students, families, and non-students) who all seem very nice. Fair pricing for a nice, peaceful place to live.

I've lived at Nob Hill for about a year, and let me say it's not the greatest. It's probably one of the cheapest complexes in Ann Arbor, but I would only live here if you're short on options.

Pros:
-Cheap for Ann Arbor.
-Maintenance is relatively quick.
-Staff is pretty nice.
-Location is decent.

Cons:
-Apartments are extremely old, nobs to all my cabinets are falling off.
-No AC.
-Kitchen is very small, no place to put anything really.
-Bathroom is especially bad.
-Rent payment website is... buggy and unreliable, no idea why they use it.
-***IMPORTANT***: Most of the outlets are 2 pronged, and the few 3 prong ones are not grounded (with the exception of the ones in the bathroom and kitchen which are GFCI). I know this because I checked with a receptacle tester. I called maintenance and they told me it shouldn't matter as long as you have your own surge protector. This is simply not true, the ground is what makes your surge protector work. Even if they've never had any problems, this is still a safety concern.

As I said, I really can't recommend living here, out of the 5 apartments I've lived in the past several years, this is by far the worst one. If you're low on options because it's hard to find apartments in AA, go for it. Otherwise look elsewhere. Sorry Nob Hill. Read More

We have lived at Nob Hill Apartments for over a year. Like any place it has its good points and bad points. One of the good points is that it is near Downtown Ann Arbor, just nine blocks away. Also, the view out the front window is very pleasant. The main bad point is that the apartments are rather small having been built in the 1930's, but that is part of their charm. So, if you don't need a lot of space, it's a great place to live.

Quiet residential surroundings/neighborhood, very privately tucked away located on a cul-de-sac. Courtyard gardens, quaint 6 unit buildings with original/historical touches. Also within walking distance of central campus, depot town, hospitals, downtown, and restaurants. Just a few short blocks from University of Michigan Stadium, convenient parking on home game Saturdays.
Staff helpful and friendly, a great community.
