They get you through improper communication and lease technicalities
While I had a okay-ish living experience here, I'm extremely disappointed with how management handled my move-out. I seem to be on the hook for rent payments even though I vacated my apartment as the lease ended- because I didn't give them a "formal and written" move out notice.
Yes, I made mistakes - I forgot to submit formal written notice before leaving, and I missed their management email change notification (their management changed, so the email changed too, it was only communicated via a... flyer months prior). I emailed my move-out plans couple of days before the lease ended, but apparently they didn't receive my email
No Clear Reminders - Despite talking to their staff the day of my moveout- telling them I am moving out and asking where to leave the keys, no one ever verbally reminded me about the 45-day notice requirement or the automatic renewal clause buried in the lease.
Even in the old communications regarding move-out, they did not make it clear that the lease would automatically renew to month-to-month! That too about a thousand dollars more expensive than the regular rent! Had to hunt for that info in some email attachment, so now they get to claim no responsibility
Predatory Timing - They're claiming my 45-day notice period only started 3-Weeks AFTER I'd already moved out and returned keys, demanding payment for an empty unit this whole time!
No Good Faith Effort - They acknowledged receiving my move-out call, yet never mentioned I was still technically responsible for rent.
The leasing office was responsive during my tenancy, but this feels like a gotcha tactic rather than reasonable policy enforcement.
Future tenants: DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, get all move-out confirmations in writing, and study your lease's fine print - because management certainly won't clarify things when it counts. This property has seen multiple management changes in recent years too, so make sure you are extra vigilant
Pro Tip: Take photos/video of the apartment condition AND any posted notices about policy changes to protect yourself.
I did not pay attention, and now I'm paying $5000 out of pocket

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your frustrations surrounding the move-out process and appreciate the opportunity to respond.
While we’re glad to hear that your overall living experience was okay, we do... want to clarify some important points. Our team ma de multiple attempts to contact you regarding your lease renewal and move-out options—via emails, phone calls, text messages, and even door knocks. These communications were sent well in advance of your lease end date in an effort to avoid confusion and to ensure a smooth transition.
We understand that policies like the required written notice to vacate and automatic month-to-month lease renewal can sometimes be overlooked, which is exactly why we made repeated efforts to connect with you directly. While we empathize with your situation and took the time to explain everything over the phone, we must still follow the lease terms agreed upon at the start of your tenancy.
We appreciate your suggestion for future residents to document their communications and read their lease thoroughly—we completely agree. Our goal is always to be transparent and communicative, and we will continue working to ensure all residents are aware of important deadlines and responsibilities.
If you have any further questions or wish to discuss this matter further, our team is still here to assist you directly.
