Violence
The residents are constantly arguing and fighting in large groups in front of the complex and in the middle of the street. Consistent loud yelling almost every night.

PLEASE READ - STAY AWAY!!!
- The management guy will lie/twist the truth about everything. - been open since august and only HALF the units are occupied in the span of 9 months… and several tenants could last the full year and have moved out whether they left before their lease, or never renewed their lease after… so make of that what you will. - Parking lot has a gate so that only cars with a pass can park, but the parking lot is accessible to anyone on foot so anyone off the street can walk through it - management team... is never in the office when you need them. - The one and only very tiny elevator breaks down randomly and frequently. - Marijuana smell in the hallway. - Loud music at all random hours of day and night - “free internet” is basically a wifi extender on each floor. Tenants will move the extender closer to their unit, so good luck with that. - NO INTERNET WIRING IN THE UNITS. You cant get xfinity or any internet in the building. The manager will lie about this and say that they are getting quotes to rewire the building and that they will have at&t, xfinity etc, but thats not gonna happen. When asked about when this rewiring will happen, he said that basically there is an internet solution available and he will suggest the Verizon 5g home wifi as an alternative… That is essentially a glorified hotspot with a router. Idk if I would want rely on a glorified hotspot for my work or studies… but make of that what you will. - The windows are old, painted with lead paint, don’t close fully, leak water when it rains, and are non-insulated - The AC/heating is not guaranteed. During summer, temp reaches 89 degrees int eh unit with no working AC to use. it will take several weeks for someone to come look at it. - Tenants trash building. Make a mess and not clean up. Fries and sauce spilled on the floor by the front door and stayed there for 2 days before it was cleaned up. Stepping in that each time you walk in. -tenants will take their pets outside front door to poop and pee so there's that smell. tenants will also smoke marijuana outside the front door. - during winter, nothing was shoved or salted. The front door walkway, sidewalk to the parking lot, and parking lot all iced over, and never shoveled. tenants have fallen and slipped on the ice. - thin walls, you can hear your neighbors. - Trash dumpster is outside behind the building frequented by the local crackhead, broken glass on the ground around it. -nothing luxurious about this building. complete opposite of luxury

Property Manager at Westwill Apartments Midtown responded to this review
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We take all reviews seriously and strive to provide a clear and accurate response. Firstly, we would like to address the claim about management. Our property manager is the Director of Real Estate for the Michigan... region, overseeing multiple properties and ensuring high standards across all locations. This role requires balancing many responsibilities, including hiring staff to maintain office and leasing hours. Regarding the occupancy rate, our property has been under new management since August, and we are vastly approaching our full occupancy goal, while also actively working to improve resident satisfaction. The transition period has seen some challenges in the past, but we are committed to creating a positive living environment for all of our residents. The parking lot is gated to ensure vehicle security, and while pedestrian access is possible, we are exploring additional measures to enhance overall security. We acknowledge that the elevator has experienced issues in the past, but have since worked diligently to address and resolve these problems ensuring reliable service for all residents. Concerning the internet, we provide free WiFi for all residents. While there have been concerns about connectivity, we are actively seeking solutions to improve internet access, including exploring options for rewiring the building. We have not been made aware of any noise and odor complaints and will take the necessary steps to investigate and address these issues. We encourage residents to report any disturbances so we can take appropriate action. The condition of the windows and HVAC system is a priority for us. We have regularly scheduled inspections and repairs throughout the year to ensure all units meet our quality standards. We are committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment. Our team is working to improve cleaning schedules and address any issues promptly. We also remind residents to be considerate of shared spaces and report any concerns. During winter, we will ensure that walkways and parking areas are properly shoveled and salted to prevent accidents. We appreciate your feedback and are dedicated to making continuous improvements. If you have any further concerns or suggestions, please feel free to contact our office directly. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Sincerely, Management @ Westwill Apartments

A pig with a dress on
Nicely finished units, but it’s what you done see until you move in. No one should be living here. Theres obviously old lead based paint on the windows, half working power, holes in the ceiling, and many other issues myself and neighbors had problems with. The property manager guy just lies to make everything sound good, and is NEVER in the office. Please just stay away!

Thank you for your feedback. We take all reviews seriously and strive to address any concerns our residents may have. However, we would like to clarify a few points: Construction and Windows: The building was completed before any tenants moved in, so... there were no residents during the construction phase. The only ongoing construction is for the gated and surveilled parking lot outside the building. Additionally, all windows are brand new and were installed prior to occupancy, ensuring that there is no lead-based paint. Property Management: Our property manager is also the Director of Real Estate for the Michigan region, which means he has multiple responsibilities and is often pulled in many directions. Despite this, he has been actively hiring staff to ensure that office hours are covered and that residents’ needs are met promptly. Unit Quality: We are committed to providing high-quality living spaces. If there are any maintenance issues, we encourage residents to report them immediately so we can address them as quickly as possible. We appreciate your input and are always working to improve our services and facilities. If you have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Thank you.

DO NOT CONSIDER
I know recent reviews say this property is under new management but DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THE PLACE. I traveled from out of state to look at apartments as I have to move to Detroit for school. I reserved a tour with them well in advance and took an Uber to their location. They never opened the door, answered their phone or the email I sent them that I was there for my tour. The windows were also cracked and broken in some units from what I could see while waiting over 30 mins outside. Awfully... irresponsible. They can’t even try to sell you the place, imagine when you actually are a tenant
