Apartments are dated, paper thin walls can hear neighbors very clearly. Super expensive to heat the unit as the apartments have terrible insulation. Heat is not included or electric.
The shower never drained and there were sewer flies out of the drain absolutely unacceptable. They never offered to change the very stained living room carpet before moving in. Old piping throughout could never run both showers at the same time absolutely no pressure. And the worst thing, leaving the apartment... emaculante and management still found a way to keep some of my deposit be forwarned you may not get it all back. If you enjoy a scenic living space good luck there the apartments overlook a parking lot and the other view basically gives you zero privacy and a boring view of the other apartments. Also, BBQing is not permitted on the patio which takes away some of the joy of even having a patio.

This was my first apartment, and I enjoyed it mostly. But a few things were a bit annoying.
1. Don't expect to get your entire safety deposit back, aka write EVERYTHING down.
List of our charges:
- Heavily Soiled Carpet (30)
- Stain Kitchen and Bath Countertop (30)
- Stain removal (3) - carpet (45)
- Extra cleaning (10.75)
- Primer in bedroom - 2 walls (50)
= 165.75
Got back 234.25 of 400 originally deposited.
2. There was a crack in the apartment's foundation that was causing a leak into our... master closet. The manager blamed the wetness on my pet, claiming they were urinating and that was the cause. Finally, when they realized it was a foundation crack, they opened the wall in my bathroom to access it. For three months after the repair, they left the wall open. When they finally did repair it, it was covered with some sort of plastic board that was not at ALL cut to fit the wall. The dry wall was never replaced in the time that I was there (open wall for 3 months, plastic board for about 5 months plus).
3. Monthly rent cost will fluctuate yearly. For us it was by more or less $30.
4. Doug the repairman is the best part of that apartment: love him. Please be nice to him!
5. If you have internet service, please note that all the apartments' connections are in one box and if you don't specify with the internet representative when they come, your connection will more than likely be throttled by other tenants being on the same wire connection.
6. You will be utilizing the traffic light for Breton/Woodmeadow, probably daily. Please note that the length of the green light is very short, and the red light is quite long. If you're trying to turn left onto 28th street, use the back route that comes out by Eyeglass World during light traffic times ONLY. Also, turn in there (I think it's called Woodlawn) if you're coming home from 28th, from the direction of the mall.
7. The garages are very useful for storage, but be warned that yours will more than likely not be near your building's front door. Neither will the dumpsters. Mail, however, is indoors! Yay!
8. Rent is not available to pay online. You have to drop it off at a different location each month (Breton Village), which is about 15-20 minutes away from Longmeadow.
9. I lived on the first floor, therefore my patio was exposed to the back lawn/street. Nothing was ever stolen from my patio, but I still would recommend a lock for your bike if you keep it there like I did.
I ran out of characters. Good luck!
