Evergreen Square Apartments

I was so excited to move into this apartment because it sounded wonderful - a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom is hard to find for a good price. Plus they advertise as being a non-smoking building. On the tour, the entrance to the building smelled like old smoke, but the apartment itself didn't. However, after we moved in, our apartment started to stink, especially underneath the sinks in the kitchen and bathrooms. Smoking was not allowed in the building, however, the people below us (we were on the 3rd… floor) were clearly smoking indoors. It irritated my allergies because of it, and no matter how often we complained nothing seemed to happen. I moved in here a little over a year ago, and wrote down everything that was wrong with the place before I even moved my things in so nothing would get blamed on me. The carpets are matted and stained, the cabinets are coming off the walls, one of the burners on the stove doesn't work, the ceiling in the second bedroom has a wall length crack that you can see into the ceiling from, and the bathtub leaks. A year and a half later, two of these minor things have been fixed. The landlord is… difficult to get ahold of at times, and maintenance doesn't seem to exist here. The complex definitely focuses more on new people moving in becoming happy, and then when you're in they just forget about you and move to the next. My neighbors above and next to me have always been loud, which doesn't really bother me personally, but it can get a little annoying. I have been looking for a new place for six months and just simply cannot afford it. I wouldn't recommend anyone to move in here until they renovate the apartments like mine with collapsing ceilings, and get new management. Read More

My landlord is pretty awesome. Whenever there's a problem she makes sure it gets done.
