Trails End Apartments

We just ended our two year stay at trails end. For starters when we went to our move in appointment they were over an hour late to get us our code to start the move in process. They also stated it was a gated facility and never in our two years of living there did the gates work. As well as stated there was a pool but for the first summer we were there the pool was under construction and that was not told to us until after starting our lease (which was at the end of May, prime pool time). Odd... they can advertise for these amenities when not working. We also had incidents with horrible neighbors yelling and cussing at my pregnant wife with our child to let us know we could not park in “her parking spot” when there is no assigned parking. As far as the apartment goes we dealt with mold in the apartment, the AC going out multiple times, as well as our mail box having a broken lock that and not fixed for months after requests. After our move out we were charged $550 for them to repaint the apartment, which should have been a routine maintenance to an apartment for any tenant. On top of silly fees such as lightbulbs replacements ($15) when all the lightbulbs were working when we left. We were also charged for two of the blinds falling off ($50) when they were secured with staple upon move in, not sure how we were expected to make that that stay up without keeping the blinds shut. We had a couple command strips peel the paint off the wall and were charged $100 for that. Which is also odd considering they already charged us $550 for a complete repaint. They have possibly the most difficult managers to reach for any issues where you would like to speak to a person and not AI. We have been sent to answering machines multiple times saying they were closed when their google hours stated otherwise. All in all I could not recommend this complex less. You can look forward to people digging through the trash and waking around from the gas station since the facility gates don’t actually close. And lots of fees when moving out. Now I love the new look inside and the big storage space the counters gave me. BUT it’s renovation is of an old building. Now if you want to not worry about them seeing pets you didn’t pay for I’m sure you’ll be fine because I paid for all three of my pets and I think they went into my apartment for a check of the furnace once but it took 5 seconds for the whole time I lived there. They are the WORST at replying to emails. When I first moved in I had requests for things to be fixed it took... forever to get completed and not even all were completed In the end I just gave up. But I did request air filters and an extra so I didn’t have to wait more they did that in a good time period I’ll give them that. They don’t check people are picking up their dogs poop so my neighbors dogs just crapped everywhere on my side and even if I picked up mine I’d have to pick theirs up in the end I just gave up. My maintenance requests have gone ignored every time I've made them, which gives me the opportunity to learn home repair because I end up having to do everything myself! and there have been broken toilets in the parking lot for several days now, but I like to think of them as modern rustic decor. And I've been living here for 5 months and I still dont have a pool key, which apparently opened when it was still warm outside but I wasnt notified. That's okay, probably are trying to save me from... drowning. I didn't get a mailbox key for a couple of weeks after moving in either but all I get is junk mail and pesky bills so it's fine. Speaking of keys, I was locked out of my apartment because their lock broke and they told me it's against their policy to help me unlock my door after hours (its not, unless they're giving tenants a different policy to keep us from all of those pesky maintenance words!!!) They wouldnt even pay for a locksmith (which would be ridiculous to do that, their lock broke I mean come on they dont do anything else), so I got a friend over to help. More of that DIY stuff.
