Belhaven Springs

Great for young professionals, college students, and graduates. Very close to Belhaven University, Millsaps College, and Jackson State University. You don't have to have perfect credit to live here. Staff is understanding of first-time renters and application process is quick and easy.

These apartments are in a great location. You're close to pretty much everything; shopping, food, parks, etc. The apartment itself (a one bedroom) is about average. They are on the older side, so it's easy to see where they walls/ceiling have been repaired. There are also several coats of paint on the walls, which is to be expected. I don't think the unit I am in was given a thorough enough cleaning before I moved in. I had to go through and clean before I moved my things in. The carpet is... also in less than great shape. There were several burnt spots on the carpet. There is no screen on the window in the bedroom, and the ones in the front windows aren't the best. I have also had a couple maintenance issues. My toilet has started leaking several times, as wel as my kitchen sink. The Property Manager, Belhaven Residential, is usually pretty good about fixing things. There was only one time that it took them about a week to come out, all of the other times, it was done in the next day or so. The complex doesn't seem to have enough parking for all of the residents, as I am almost never able to park at my building. I definitely wouldn't recommend this complex for someone looking for a quiet place to live. There is ALWAYS traffic in and out, which doesn't really bother me. The main gate also has issues from time to time. One side doesn't always work, so it's just standing open part of the time. Other than that, it's fairly nice though. While others haven't had the same experience I have, the staff a Belhaven Residential has been very nice in the few times I've talked with them. I do think the rent is a little high for the quality of apartment, but it's worth it for the location. Read More
