Good place but a little disappointed
This place is marketed very well, but for the price and the claims of “luxury living” it really misses the mark. There’s too little parking that makes finding a spot after the work day impossible, have to street park on Babcock where there’s no sidewalk and limited lighting at night. Plus people without a pass displayed park in the lot all the time despite the policy against that. And there’s a long waitlist for the parking garage. There’s trash by the walkways, poop on the grass in the front.... Construction is modern but cheaply made, our unit floor is badly tilted and there’s limited soundproofing. So with no carpets upstairs neighbors make you feel like you’re living inside a loud drum. Can’t do zoom calls or work from home without disturbance. Can hear neighbors music too. There’s been a neighbors dog barking basically every night for weeks which is annoying and there’s frequently a weed and smoke smell despite the no smoking policy. There’s been the strongest smell of gas leaking from the meters by the dog park for months. The door to the storage and bike room that’s supposed to be secure is broken. There’s always something important that’s broken in the building for a bit too long (HVAC fan, butterfly entry stand at the east door). I’ve lived in apartments that have asked comparable prices for a total unit and those buildings *keep up* with making the place beautiful. They repair quickly, touch up paint on doors and common areas once a year, and they don’t allow policy violations for the sake of the enjoyment and expectation of the whole community. This place is brand new and it feels like it’s degrading quick. But the most annoying thing is the expectation of better sound proofing for anything less than the top floor and the right to a parking space totally being missed. Management has been friendly and nice enough and the construction isn’t their fault, but id be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit disappointed with the expectation of this place not really being what it seems with the advertising and price tag.
