Irresponsibility

My experience has been very disappointing.

On August 18, I informed the administration about a serious problem in my apartment. Despite having communicated the situation to them from the beginning, the necessary action was not taken to attend to it properly. Over time, the problem worsened to the point that part of the kitchen ceiling ended up falling off.

The most frustrating thing has been having to deal with the consequences of a situation that could have been addressed much earlier. I have… lost hours of work, I have had to reorganize my life and look for solutions for a situation that I did not cause.

Now I am told about a possible economic compensation, but for me the problem goes far beyond money. I want to live in a safe and habitable place, and I believe that the response to a situation of this severity should have been much faster from the moment it was reported.

I hope that the administration takes responsibility, improves the way it attends to maintenance problems and understands that behind each report there is a person who needs to be able to feel safe in their own home.

I share my experience so that other people can take it into consideration before deciding where to live.

Wonderful property management team with exceptional customer service and resident engagement. That said I was unhappy with the age of the property, specifically the creakiness of the hardwood floors and stairs, as well as the relatively expensive energy costs associated with older properties and their outdated insulation. Namely, the natural gas bill for winter-time heating. Lastly, the apartment complex can do nothing about this, but the lack of a restroom fan in the bathroom and the size of… the bathroom overall and round-style toilet. I would highly recommend this apartment for the single urban dweller or tiny young single-family. Decent amenities for the price, but if they found a way to incorporate a once weekly trash pick up so that residents didn’t have to walk 10 miles to the dumpster nearest their apartment—for maybe an added surcharge—that would be incredible! Especially for residents such as myself that are completely and totally disabled. Also let us leave longer reviews!

Northside Merrimon is a friendly community. Its secure. The staff at the facility are very competent and helpful. The location is very convenient as well, just 2 miles from Asheville downtown.

Move in was easy, office administration was friendly and helpful, and when my porch light burnt out, it got fixed the next day. A dream compared to where I moved from and I really appreciate how easy it is to reach someone.
