Property is not as advertised!

I do not recommend living here. I have seen a lot of five start reviews but they are not accurate at all. First are the costs, which they don’t tell you when you move in. Under previous management my utilities were around $40, but they average $90 under new management. My last utility bill was over $190. Even if you have your own renters insurance they will charge you every month for it. Then there’s the issue of cleanliness. You are charged for trash pickup, but valet trash does not come every… day and many residents do not follow the requirements to get their trash picked up. This results in loose garbage, not in bags, everywhere, and it sits there for weeks. Nobody picks up their pet waste. There are cockroaches, and when you tell maintenance the “pest control” tells you there aren’t any. The biggest problem I’ve had is safety. This is a gated community but the gate rarely works! Cars regularly get broken into, catalytic converters get stolen, and last week my car was stolen and then totaled. Either the security cameras are dummies or management does not care, because minimal actions have been taken to deal with this issue. The security company they have contracted only works 6pm-6am, but I’m not sure what they even do. If you try to contact management, they will never respond. This might be because the property gets a new manager every few months; it has changed management at least four times since I started living here. They also recently closed the pool due to non-residents using the pool. I’m not even sure how it makes sense to close the pool to residents because non residents are abusing our amenities.

The pool was closed for maintenance after the July 4th party to ensure safety. We understand your frustration and are… committed to maintaining our amenities.

We want to assure you that the gates are now functioning, and we've added four new locks to our pedestrian doors for increased security. For pest control, we have weekly services available; residents just need to call the office to be added to the list.

Your safety is a priority, and we’re working on improving communication and addressing utility concerns. Please reach out to our office if you’d like to discuss further. We value your input and are dedicated to making improvements.

Will not live here again.

If you are wanting to live in a student apartment, you need to look at all your options before deciding on this one.

My two times at Aspen have not been the best.
I hated my 2 random roommates the first year.
My second year we lived in the two person and it's way too small for both of our things to fit.

The office never answers their phones and they are all too young and don't know how to respond to questions.

You will get charged for stupid fees that will bill your account. Not worth the… hassle in my opinion or the money. Trust me there are safer, cheaper options.

Happy with Aspen Charlotte...

Our daughter lived there 2 years, her roommate 4 years. If you are charged hundreds at move out... you are the problem. We were only charged $20 and also a $35 carpet cleaning charge which clearly states will be charged in the lease to all tenants. We had photos of move in condition and the $20 charge was removed when we inquired about it. Raven and Breonna were very helpful and professional regarding any issues or questions we had. Any needed repairs in the apartment during the years were… handled quickly. Very happy with our Aspen experience! Move in, be responsible, respect the property, clean for inspections, follow the rules and instructions and you will be, too!

Feels homey!

I really enjoyed living at Aspen. There we a couple hiccups along the way but my apartment was nice and the girls in the office were always really nice. I did receive a fine for leaving my trash out overnight, which I didn't do but they took care of the charge after I explained the situation with me and my roommates. I'm graduating but otherwise, I'd renew. Way better than other places in the area.

Beware! Please do not rent at Aspen Heights

We were charged $200 to repaint a bedroom. No pictures were provided when we requested them. Do not rent from this complex!! They would not work with us either.

I am sorry that we did not meet and exceed you and Madison's expectations during your experience with us. It is our priority to provide the best possible living experience to our residents. However, we will not be removing any charges from this account. As we are assessing well over 300 bedrooms in a span of less than 24 hours on… move-out day, it would be nearly impossible to photograph every single minute damage charge. I have confirmed that we did in fact incur costs for our vendor to repaint both the common area and Madison's bedroom. I am sorry that you feel that these charges are inflated, but I cannot edit these charges as they are uniform charges which were used to process all damages for each of our vacating residents.
