Ashley Woods Apartments

I am about to move out of Ashley Woods after a year of living there. My experience living at the property has been subpar at best. They do not care about the tenants. A few examples of what has happened since I moved in:
1. Old management lied about my apartment having a washer and dryer so I had to buy both. Complex only has four washer and dryers in the laundry room.
2. When I moved in, in June 2022 my apartment wasn't ready, I didn't have a stove or fridge (took maintenance multiple days to… put both in).
3. Don't expect maintenance to fix your work orders fast or at all. I still have work orders open from April that were never fixed (so two months since they were opened).
4. Lastly, I had a leak in my apartment, Ashley Woods did very little to work with me to clear the mold in my apartment. FYI I still have mold in my apartment two months after the leak. I had to pay for a home inspector out of my own pocket twice, they offered to give me a new apartment but I had to pay for the move which didn't make sense because I am moving out of state. I told them to clear the mold of the apartment which they refused to do and said if I wanted to terminate my lease I could, which I can't til the school year is over (I work for the school district in Greensboro). Also management never informed me that the previous tenant in my apartment moved due to water leak and they suspected mold. Which would have been beneficial to know before I moved in. Had I known I would've found somewhere else to live.

To wrap this up, whoever reads this: Do not move to this property there are problems all over the complex. Trash all over, unleashed dogs, heard from other residents that have had no AC or heat in months, others have mold in there apartments that is visible and the property manager or maintenance are not doing anything to fix these issues. Yes, they are under new management (Damsen Residential) but I've tried to contact the company to let them know about my experience and no one has returned my call, I have spoken with the regional manager CJ and he wasn't responsive in a timely manner and didn't provide proper information.

My experience here at Ashley Woods was unsatisfactory. This place needs a complete overhaul of the apartments. The pictures that are listed on their website showing the inside of the apartments is Not even close to what you get when you move in. It’s all false advertisement. Management and the owner of Ashley Woods should be ashamed to rent these run down rat hole apartments. All the appliances date back to 1970’s, they spot paint when a resident move out and a new move in, the window blinds are… old and dry rot, there are squirrels and rats running around in the ceiling, stair wells are dark at night with no light, very spooky (possible robbery if someone is hiding), dust, dirt and trash in parking lot, police out there every other day, electrical wall sockets don’t work, power bill is expensive due to old wiring, peeling paint and the list goes on. Ashley woods have came a long way for the better. Julie and Kerstain in the office are amazing team. They work hard and get stuff taking care of. Every time I need work done in my apartment they sent the maintenance guys over right way. Since I have been sick the lady always check in on me. Thank you ladies for being so compassionate and caring towards the tenants out here.

I have been living here for five months and I have gotten to know the staff very well and they are great! Every time I need help Ms. Julie or Ms. Kerstain always there to help me out, they listen and has work with me. I can even stop by the office and talk sports with them. Thanks for being a great staff.
