Worst experience as a tenant
Although I consistently paid my rent—often above the required amount—my account balance increased due to how fees and utilities were applied, not nonpayment. Late fees were automatically assessed based on posting timing rather than confirmed late submission, and a requested late-fee audit was denied. After my roommate moved out, I was charged full utilities despite the lease specifying per-person allocation, with no documentation or meter data provided. I also experienced unannounced maintenance... entries, was required to vacate my unit on 24 hours’ notice for non-emergency work, and dealt with repeated habitability issues including appliance failures and flooding. While one billing error was corrected, all other disputed charges were required to be paid without review, creating financial strain and safety concerns.
