Meridian Terrace

I’ve been at this apartment complex 6 years. For 3 years, every summer when the apartment above me (I’m first floor) would turn on the AC, it would leak in my living room & bedroom ceilings. 2 weekends before I moved out, I wasn’t home and there was a serious leak and damaged my couch. It’s now 2 months later and I’m still chasing management to reimburse me for at MINIMUM the supplies I purchased to fix my couch. They are unresponsive. The maintenance takes forever to come to the apartment and… they temporarily fix a problem, they don’t care. Meridian terrace is a newish, eight building, apartment community in an up-and-coming town consisting mainly of two bedroom, townhouse duplexes (separate entrances) with some, single level flats. Rent is affordable based on fair market value but you pay for electricity, heat(and by extension hot water) and an annual sewer charge (paid quarterly).

There's also a mandatory $75 "amenities" charge that includes wired internet and basic satellite dish programming. You will not like this as the mgmt… uses a middle-man co.called Pavlov Media that wont allow you access to Dish. This includes billing and service issues. If you want premium programming you'll basically have to pay the full amount for tha. There's no deduction for what you are already paying for a basic pkg through your amenities. Internet is provided by verizon but you must go through Pavlov. e.g. of why this could be problematic, Pavlov media was initially downgrading the digital TV signal, in effect forcing you to have Analog after the entire country was required to broadcast digitally. There was nothing we could do? This has been d/c. I include this info first because it gives a truer picture of rental costs and because tv and internet can be deal breakers for some.

Pets are allowed in only 1 of the I buildings and this is unfair. There is a pet deposit as well as an additional $75 per month fee.

The apt itself is very nice and the private entrance gives the feeling of being in your own home. The grounds are well-maintained & repairs are responded to quickly. The on site Super does a good job and we frequently see maintenance crews.

The master bdrm is a good size as is the master bath but the second bedroom is smallish with a closet very poorly designed to the point that's it's almost non-functional. Lack of Closet space is a major drawback. Materials used in the apt are cheap but look ok. Bldg 2 is settling and we've had a lot of cracks along the walls. Community and neighbors are mostly quiet and there's lots of parking. No playground on site but good neighborhood parks w/lots of summer activities. It is a Garden Style complex each building has three stories quiet clean and super comfortable 2 bedroom.
