Too Much Noise and Poor Heating
I moved out in the fall of 2020 after living there for only one year because of the following:
1) The tenant above the apartment I rented plays heavy instruments several hours a day which the landlord and super failed to disclose when I agreed to rent the apartment. It was like living under a symphony orchestra!
2) The heat was not sufficient in the winter. You will need to buy space heaters for each room.
3) The bedroom windows is above the dumpsters and NJ transit bus stop - terrible... noise starting at the crack of dawn!
4) The laundry facility needs better machines and was constantly dirty and became worse during COVID.
5) The neighborhood is obsessed with leaf blowers causing terrible air and noise pollution everyday starting in the morning and even on Sundays.
6) Sometimes you can hear inside people's apartments via the intercom in the lobby and you could never hear the person on the other end of the intercom so you take the chance of buzzing in total strangers.
7) The ceiling in the bathroom sweat and drips on your head after taking a shower. Very bizarre.
8) If you get a renovated apartment, make sure you check the flooring because whoever they hire does a bad job - the tiles in the kitchen was not leveled and had sharp edges under your feet and there was too much space where the floor meets the wall.
Overall, poor quality of life here.
Pros: Spacious and sunny apartment with ample closet space.
