If you can handle all of these, move in.

Loud music and shouting never stop throughout day and night, even into the early morning hours. Cigarette and marijuana smoke rises constantly into our apartment, particularly through the bathroom, master bedroom closet, and living room, essentially every room. The smoke is so strong and consistent that my respiratory health has deteriorated rapidly, requiring medical treatment and prescribed medication.

For months, I have raised these issues with the management team. Each time, I receive only...
template-based, avoiding responses that deflect responsibility. This apartment complex previously operated under the name "Eaves", and it appears that residents back then were raising the exact same issues, which is reflected in the poor review scores from that period. They changed the name, but nothing has changed. It may have gotten worse.

This building is over 30 years old and is in a severely deteriorated state. In winter, hot water runs out after 30 minutes and even while turning the water pressure to its lowest setting. On hot days, no matter how long you run the air conditioning, the temperature simply will not go down. Some households had to purchase and install window AC units at their own expense. The winds through the unproperly sealed windows are so bad that in winter, the heater cannot warm the apartment, and in summer, the AC must run all day. Since the utility bills are double what they should be, the financial burden is significant along with the rent.

Also the internet LAN outlets throughout the apartment walls turned out to be fake. They're decorative placeholders with no actual connection. Only a single LAN outlet from the balcony was functional. The property manager did not even know which outlets were real and which were fake. We ended up having to purchase and install a very long internet cable at our own expense. It was absolutely absurd.

I have lived in many apartments, but this place is the worst of worst without question.

Poor Management

We’ve been living here for months now, and the gym has still not opened. When we first moved in, management said it was under renovation, but even last year when we toured, it looked fine and definitely not under construction. Every time we ask, we’re told “it’ll open in a week,” but it’s been over two months and nothing has changed. Now that it’s getting cold, the pool is unusable, and with no gym in the community, we’re forced to travel far just to work out — which is frustrating considering... this amenity is advertised.

Unfortunately, that’s not the only issue. Ants keep coming inside the apartment even with all doors and windows shut. The flush doesn’t work properly and needs constant fixing. On top of that, the entrances of the buildings are often dirty and not maintained well, which really affects the overall living experience.

It feels like management is making promises without follow-through, and basic upkeep is being ignored. For the price we’re paying, the community should be held to a higher standard.

Avoid at all costs

I don't know where to begin. I signed a lease this past year and cannot wait to move out. The gym has been "under renovation" since the move in and its month 11, they always have an excuse stating they are waiting for inspections blah blah. Ants are everywhere, toilets do not flush. every time you raise a ticket they do respond but then make the most pathetic attempt to fix the issue. When we had a leak in the ceiling they just spray painted over it with white paint. overall apartment is low... quality, they also charge you for amenities that are not even open. the only good thing about the area is no one cares what you do, smoke whatever you want, access to costco carts to take your trash and groceries to your appartment and even park under the sheltered parking there is absolutely no oversight so definetely get a better spot for there being no gym at all.

Stay away, many serious issues!

I strongly advise staying away from this community for several reasons. I’ve been a resident for about five years, but since the complex was renamed to Artisan (formerly Eaves) under new ownership, I’ve had multiple terrible experiences.

Poor, uncaring management: Once, the lock on my front door (provided with the apartment) broke, leaving me locked out. Maintenance promised to send someone but never followed up. After waiting outside for over an hour, I went to the main office, where a manager...
coldly refused to help at all. I had to hire a locksmith at my own expense, which was completely unacceptable. The regular employees are often very nice, but the management is terrible.

Unsafe: People drive like absolute maniacs through the parking lot (literally at 50+ mph in a 10 mph zone). People regularly swerve around me at speed as I carefully back out of my parking spot. I fear for any children who live in this area!

Apartment falling apart: In the past couple years, the water heater also broke and needed replacement, pieces of plaster have literally fallen off the wall where there was a previous shoddy repair, ants repeatedly show up in the bathroom.

Recently, the soap tray in my shower simply fell off the wall, exposing a damp, crumbling wall with significant mold. I called emergency maintenance twice. The first call went unanswered, and the second was dismissed as not an emergency. Maintenance finally came an entire week later, and issue was "resolved" with the removal of the tile exposing a wall completely COVERED in black mold. The insulation, drywall, and tiles were replaced, but grout/caulking was completely missed on the top of the tiles and around the faucet, and gaps were left in the grout. Even after a second visit to correct this, not all issues were corrected and they were no-show for a third visit!

Noise: There are often loud construction sounds from the adjacent PSE&G parking lot (which I have a nice view of in the winter when the leaves are off the trees), with trucks beeping and even jackhammers on a semi-regular basis, often going on well after work hours.

Draconian Lease Agreement: The lease is an enormous contract filled with excessively broad clauses that favor the management over tenants. When the management changed, the contract was completely overhauled. I wasn’t prepared to move on short notice, so I reluctantly agreed, but the terms are heavily skewed against tenants.

I could go on and on. Don't move here!

Terrible experience

Poor quality rental unit, unresponsive and incompetent maintenance department, fees for everything, garbage and recycling at far distances. The heating and cooling was incredibly inefficient. The dryer would take 3 rounds to dry clothing and maintenance did nothing to fix it. The stove we received upon moving in was broken and covered in duct tape markings. The whole time we were there, we felt as though we were being taken advantage of. We were only there for one year and now have had a much... better experience at another apartment complex.
