Kirby Village Townhomes

Our oringal move in date was Jan 15…after multiple times being told the NIGHT before move in dates when uhauls were already packed we ultimately didn’t move until the last week of February. We haven’t had an enjoyable experience yet. To start off strong living out of a hotel for weeks was not great every night not knowing when we could move in. We were told gym, amenities etc would all be finished in a few months yet there’s absolutely no progress. We have a dog and part of the reason we moved... here was because we were told there would be a dog park. Nope. I couldn’t even tell you where the dog park is. What was advertised as a luxury quiet community is just a big never ending construction zone and you basically live ON TOP of a train track where the trains run and blare their horns at all hours of the day and night…. Including 2:30 am No one is responsive to questions / concerns and they never have a straight answer. Only “tentative” plans. We regret moving here and can’t wait until our lease is up

The worst part? You literally live on the train tracks. Despite it being a residential area, you will be woken up at 2 am by a BLARING train horn and interrupted atleast every hour of the day. My partner and I moved from out of state, excited to settle into what was marketed as a luxury, amenity-rich community. At the time of our tour, the property was still under construction, but we were told everything—pool, gym, green space—would be completed within three months. That was nearly a year ago.

To date, none of those amenities exist. There is no pool—just a dirt hole. There is no gym—only a bare building frame. There is no outdoor space suitable for pets or residents. Construction... has clearly stalled, with only occasional appearances by a worker and no meaningful progress in months.

The apartment interiors are passable but not what was advertised. The flooring is vinyl, not hardwood. Appliances are modern but trip the breakers frequently. Construction quality was poor enough that maintenance has had to fix numerous issues from the outset. Maintenance is great but overwhelmed.

Beautiful, modern, large, great value new townhome style apartments near shopping, cool Main Street town of Somerville, shopping, recreation, parks, hiking/biking and major highways. Most units have their own private large garage and private outdoor patio/deck. A pool, clubhouse and gym are under construction. The management team and move-in process are excellent. Scott, Marilyn, Chris and Reuben are very attentive, professional and helpful. Friday and Saturday nights in Somerville are... great with a classic car show, live outdoor music and great dining options. Duke’s Farm, Finderne Wetlands, the Raritan Canal Path and Somerville Patriots baseball are all within 2 miles! Nothing like Kirby Village in New Jersey! Read More
