Just Moved IN......

I just moved in and am happy about my new place. I do not see any of the issues i have read about ...it is clear to me that significant monies have been spent here and I am grateful for that. It is nice and quiet, I have not seen nor heard any problems or issues and have been very happy in my first few months here.

Terrible

We have lived here since August 2017 and upon move in we we're promised a new front door (due to there being a huge dent in the door) and a new kitchen floor, because ours is torn to shreds. We we're also promised that our bedroom windows would be replaced since they are nailed shut and cracked. These have never gotten fixed/replaced. Upon our time living here we have had a few issues pop up. There is now a hole in our bedroom ceiling, our sink isn't sealed so it leaks into the cabinet below,... our windows leak into the apartment when it rains, our shower has to be used with pliers, and we are missing a door that leads into the hall of the apartments. But don't worry, we got our storm windows installed... With a gap left on the bottom.

A new beginning!

A lot of change had taken place here. New owners have evicted all previous tenants. Everything has been painted. The carpets have been replaced with laminate flooring. Yes, I had to do a lot of cleaning on the kitchen cabinets and the tub due to previous tenants smoking in the apartment. I have seen no bugs, of the bed variety or other. Current tenants are nice and respectful. The landscapers were here last weekend. The parking lot is going to be replaced. This complex is getting nicer by the... day. No drugs. No crime. Security cameras were installed. Maintenance is on site. Office staff are helpful and accommodating.

Do NOT Rent at Endicott Apartments

Once an entertainment venue and dancehall turned motel, and then upgraded (I use this term loosely) to the efficiencies, studios, and one bedroom apartments it houses today, the Endicott Apartments are a great alternative for homelessness--depending on the weather.

The parkinglot is slowly becoming one giant, sinkhole thanks to cheap and easy repairs done in the past, destroyed by brutal winters and marginal plowing. Imagine the biggest pothole on your current block, multiply that times one...
hundred.  But don't be alarmed, there are orange road cones to keep you from falling in.

The hallways have a residual cornucopia of scents from current tenants and past inhabitants.  These aromas can range from that of stale, 1970s carpet that hasn't been vacuumed (let alone steam cleaned) in ages to the stench that radiates from mildewing, unclaimed undergarments that rot in the communal laundry room's garbage pail.

Coin-operated laundry is available on-site, however, the facilities are maintained by a third party, and cleaning of this area is rarely done, if ever.  On many occasions, I have forfeited cleaning my belongings in said facility after finding surprises like empty condom wrappers and blood spatter in and on the machines.   At one point, a notice was sent out requesting tenants and their guests refrain from relieving themselves in the machines, since that too, was a common occurrence.

If this sounds good to you, I would also like to mention that bed bug infestations here are quite typical within the last year or so.  Mail is picked up by the property manager and often not distributed until the next day or days later. There are also perpetual leaks, plumbing, and electrical issues.

While electricity is included in the rent here, it was not uncommon until very recently for residents to go between 8 and 14 hours without electricity once every few months due to the property management/owners not paying their bills in full and on time.

Notices have also been sent around about crime and burglary amongst the complex.  Though, it wasn't until my old car was broken into, with the battery and inspection sticker stolen that I personally experienced this issue.

I wish I was making this stuff up. If you have the opportunity to live here, you shouldn't take it.  Yes, the rent may be inexpensive, with utilities and cable TV included, but the experience isn't worth it. I would give the Endicott Apartments negative five stars if apartments.com allowed it.
