Renters Beware — Pet Owners Read This Before Signing
If you’re considering moving to Parker Towers with a dog, you need to know what you’re actually signing up for — because the reality does not match the advertising.
Parker Towers promotes itself as a pet-friendly community, but the lease itself explicitly states dogs are prohibited unless management approves otherwise. There are strict size and breed restrictions, a hefty monthly pet fee, and many residents here clearly dislike dogs and have been known to report fellow tenants for minor... infractions.
The one real dog amenity — a turf dog run — has been closed and locked for over seven months with no explanation. The temporary alternative is a rat-infested, garbage-strewn, mushroom-growing mulch pit that is also locked at night, meaning the once-24-hour relief area no longer exists.
The so-called “new” dog runs under construction are much smaller, use hard concrete surfaces, and are designed to share space with a children’s playground — which raises serious safety and usability concerns. They have also been plagued by construction delays, with no definitive timeline for when they will actually open.
What was once a genuinely pet-friendly community under the old management has become an infuriating and disheartening place under the new management — defined by constant excuses, a complete lack of transparency, and disregard for both dogs and their owners. Management is full of empty promises and excuses, takes no accountability, and treats residents like an inconvenience.
Despite the glossy ads, this is not a welcoming place for pet owners. Read the fine print, ask direct questions, and understand that the “pet-friendly” branding is misleading at best.

This is NOT luxury living
This is not luxury living at all. The apathy of the new management team when it comes to personal safety, construction safety (it’s never ending), and basic requests is a reflection of their upper management who doesn’t seem to take accountability for much.

Constant construction noise for past 3 years with increasing rent.
Constant, very loud cinstruction noise for past 3 years. Makes working from home home or recovering from covid frustrating, But they still keep increasing rent despite no quiet enjoyment of residence. I call about construction noise, and they say management will help me, but transfer call to management where leave UNRETURNED voicemail.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I'd advise everyone to stay away from Parker Tower. I've been living here for less than a year, and my experience has been getting worse and worse. The buildings might look nice from the outside (and that was why I was willing to pay $2100 for a studio), but if you're unfortunate enough to live here, then you'll know they're very cheaply done. It takes forever to wait for an elevator even though there're 4 in each building. Walls are ridiculously thin, you can literally hear your neighbor's... conversations. Ceiling keeps leaking, and no matter how many times they patch it up, it keeps coming back. They say they're pet friendly, but you must pay $50 a month to have one and you can only enter and exit with your pet through the service entrance, which always stinks. When boxes are wrongly delivered to your door and you try to get them to the right people, instead of helping, the doorman would tell you to just discard them. Management bullies residents who voice their concerns. Everytime I say something, they'd come back a few days later telling me I've violated something so trivial such as putting a doormat outside of my apartment door. I have no intention of renewing my lease, and I'm sure they're not only used to it, they're happy to raise the rent even more.

Moving out for good
I lived at Parker Towers for 5 years and this year I am out. Not because I don't like it; it's because they raise the rent almost $300 every year. A lot of people move out because of this. So my rent is now $1500 more from when I moved in? I am on a "preferential rent" which means my apartment is Rent Stabilized but they charge a much lower rent because nobody would pay it. So now they just increase people who are in this rent category so they can add 20% when the person moves out and... deregulate the apartment. This place is a scam and should be investigated.
