Library Place

As a graduate student, I found Library Place to be an excellent place to live. It’s conveniently close to downtown and the Commons, with easy bus access to Cornell, yet remains calm and removed from noise. The nearby park and Cascadilla Gorge add to the appeal.

Management, particularly Christie, was friendly and responsive, and maintenance requests were handled quickly and professionally. The common areas are always clean and well-kept. Having lived in Library Place for almost a year I feel qualified to comment on this attractive apartment building. Library Place was built on the site of the first large library building in Ithaca. Capitalizing on the name has resulted in very interesting decor. Shelves of books. Books on tables are evident throughout the lobbies. Attractive art and furniture both add to this pleasing effect especially in the lobbies.
Each floor has a couple of interesting features. Firstly the colour of the... carpets represents a season. The second floor carpeting is green symbolizing spring. Large and small rooms and sitting areas allow residents to gather for different functions or just enjoy a peaceful time enjoying a view.

The grounds are attractive even more so now that more flowers have been added. Large cheery flowers in tall containers greet you at either door.

Of course there have been problems. Some with the appliances. The owners try to remedy problems as soon as difficulties are brought to their attention. When Maintenance is called help is soon forthcoming.
Staff are friendly and helpful. I will mention Christie at the front desk who adds a friendly atmosphere that the residents appreciate.
As Library Place goes forward, life here will be even more pleasant.
