Party Central

A lot of shares! College Kids having keggers....If you are a student this place would be great! Not Recommended for the working professionals. The building has been open for about three years and it's destroyed to the point where the hallway floors and wallpaper are destroyed. The awesome rooftop has been closed multiple times from parties damaging building property. There was literally a club on the rooftop for the entire summer, packed to the max with people who do not live in the building...... .the doorman had no chance of stopping them. Great neighborhood ... not worth the $$$. You can get real "luxury" living in the else where in the city.

Be Careful Before Signing Your Lease!

Bloom 62 is one of the most newly-renovated and clean buildings in the East Village, has a great roof deck, a gym in the basement, and generally nice neighbors. However, I wish I had known about their landlord, Magnum Real Estate Group, before I signed up to live here....

Magnum has shady clauses in their leases that allow them to essentially kick out any tenant at any time, for any reason, with just three months' notice. They did this to me and my roommates (we are being forced to leave on...
August 31st, even though our original lease extended through May 2016), and they also did this to one of my personal friends, when they decided to convert her entire building on the Upper East Side into condos. If you ever decide to rent from these guys, be VERY CAREFUL about what you sign. Maybe even have a lawyer read over the lease beforehand and try to negotiate more lenient terms. The hassle of being forced to move is enough to make me wish I had never rented here.

They also impose rules and restrictions on Bloom 62's tenants that feel almost childish. For just one example, as of last month, all of my guests at my apartment now have to show their ID at the front desk and sign their name on a list when coming over to see me. I don't know about you, but most of my friends are very uncomfortable with this, as it is quite invasive.

While the roof deck is very nice also, they now close it every night at 12, which kind of takes away most of the fun of having a roof deck for me. Overall I would say my experience with the BUILDING has been very positive, but I do not agree at all with Magnum's style of managing tenants.

Bloom 62

I've been living here for 2 years now. The immediate area is simply amazing to say the least. There are a ton of awesome restaurants within 2 to 3 blocks. 5th street alone has 5 awesome restaurants. The building it self is really cool and new. The roof top is awesome probably the nicest residential rooftop in the east village. The doormen are great and the building overall is awesome. Some tenants tend to be young (way to young for the amount it costs to live there). A lot of mommy and... daddy money being handed out I'm guessing but overall a solid spot for sure.
