Dont live here

Terrible building, don't live here.

The AC breaks down frequently in the summers and tenants are subjected to sweltering temperatures inside. I've experienced this for three summers and suspect it's been going on for years. Management has refused to replace the old system and instead patches the issues.

Last week, the elevator dropped one foot as I stepped out of the elevator. Thankfully it wasn't worse as I could've been seriously injured.

They also charge a monthly fee if you don't give...
them notice that you renewed renters insurance after renewing the lease. Then refuse to remove it after you provide proof of insurance. They won't process the rent auto pay when these fees are added (they also don't tell you that fee is being added) because the amount you approve to auto debit is only for the base rent. They'll charge another fee if you don't notice that they don't process your autopay. Also, they're still charging me the renters insurance fee even after I've provided proof of insurance.

I'm moving out and plan on contacting the housing authority.

Terrible management.

fyi

I lived in renoir house for a number of years. The final two years, with greystar as proprietor saw:
1) the departure of the longtime superintendent (which was not announced to residents until a replacement was named)
2) summers with non-operable air conditioning on at least ten separate occasions, often with no communication to residents before returning home.
3) communication issues with residents and accurately maintain records.
4) sustained lack of access to the rooftop, with limited...
communication relating to its accessibility

The staff in the building is amazing. Vassel, the super is very helpful and responds quickly to all problems. The doormen are very friendly. Almost all of the apts were recently renovated with nice finishes for the most part. The floors look nice but are actually plastic tiles that look like wood. The floors seem to attract more dust. My previous floors in the the same building were real wood and it was a lot less dusty. There is very limited closet space. I am facing North so I am facing the... back of the the building facing the hospital which has a very loud generator running 24/7. I have trouble sleeping. If you face South then you face 63 st and you get alot of traffic noise from the cars coming off the Queens borough bridge and the FDR. The roodeck is very nice. The laundry room and gym are nice but are too small for the amount of tenants in the building. Pluses of the building are that you are close to the 4,5,6,N, R & F trains. Overall I think you can get a better deal somewhere else.
