Forced to use bad internet service
I lost internet service two weeks ago following a thunderstorm. After assessing the issue, Spectrum determined that a new line to my unit was required and offered to complete the repair. However, the leasing office denied authorization because the property uses Xiber internet service, which is included in the lease. When I attempted to use the Xiber service, it was nonfunctional, likely because it relies on the same damaged line Spectrum proposed repairing.
Two weeks later, neither the leasing... office or Xiber has provided an estimated timeline for resolution. While I appreciate the intent of offering residents included internet service, it should not come at the expense of timely support and reliability. The fact that Spectrum could restore service within days, while Xiber cannot provide a timeline at all, is unacceptable.
Because I work from home, a reliable and secure internet connection is essential. I have lived here for nearly two years and, until now, have had a positive experience. However, due to the ongoing lack of resolution, I will not be renewing my lease.
I hope that, moving forward, Birge & Held will consider a more reliable and responsive internet solution for its residents.
