Lots of Headaches Here, But Maybe Some Hope
Generally - I appreciate a lot of things about this place and had a average-high review, but my rating keeps falling. It has been my home for five years or so and three years or so for my mother in law. You get a ground floor single story unit. Pet friendly. Getting around and accessing businesses is convenient from this location as well. But, the apartments are smaller and older. There has been multiple attempts to paint/wallpaper over it and make it look nicer than what it is. And so far, a... lot of typical maintenance that is done for a community, such as snow removal or light replacements, has been bad, done halfway, or we have to do it ourselves. This could be turning around a bit, as better work is starting to be done.
So far the managements have been keen to just sit on these apartments and keep raising rent without much input except frequent inspections. We've had 3 different management companies in the last couple years and there has been little communication and lots of confusion and mistakes while burdening us to figure out what is going on.
Prices were raising steadily year to year, but accelerated recently short notice due to a mess up in management transition and they wouldn't honor the rate already signed for many months ago. They're currently creating an antagonistic relationship with people who have already been treated poorly. Even when I try and reach out over my preferred contact method, they've ignored me or refused to help. The efforts of the people they hire have been noticed though. The cleaning and tune up of the yard has been nice!

We truly appreciate you being a long-time resident and understand that the changes over the past few years, including multiple management transitions, have been frustrating.
As the new management company, we're committed to being a long-term partner... for this community. We genuinely care about our residents, invest back into the property, and work hard every day to make meaningful improvements. We're glad to hear you've noticed the positive changes to the landscaping and overall appearance, and we'll be sure to share your comments regarding communication and maintenance with our team as we continue to improve.
Regarding rent, BRG does not increase rent during an active lease term. Any rent adjustments are made only at the time of lease renewal. We strive to keep our rental rates competitive with the local market while balancing the increasing costs of operating and maintaining the community. Our goal is always to minimize increases whenever possible while continuing to invest in the property and provide the best possible living experience.
We also recognize that during the recent management transition, there may have been instances of miscommunication or incomplete documentation that created confusion. Since taking over the community, our team has been working diligently with the information and records provided to us, and we've made every effort to resolve issues as fairly and accurately as possible. We appreciate our residents' patience as we've worked through the transition and remain committed to providing clear communication moving forward.
Thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate you recognizing the progress that's being made, and we remain committed to earning your trust as we continue moving the community forward.
