Chestnut Hill Apartments

DO NOT rent here unless you love constantly reaching out to the leasing office about maintenance's ineptitude and being treated like a number. I've lived here less than a year and had way more issues than any other complex I've lived in. Here they are in no particular order:

1. We rented a washer and dryer from the leasing office. When they were installed, the washer hoses were mixed up so the hot water hose was hooked up to cold water and vice versa. Both the hoses and hook ups were labeled… prominently...
2. Our dryer vent hose was also not installed properly. We learned that when our laundry room was very humid whenever we ran the dryer. This was a massive fire hazard.
3. Our blinds not working upon move-in. When our new blinds were installed, 2 sets were put in crooked so they had to come fix that again
4. We had a massive earwig infestation upon move-in in our entryway. Part of the issue turned to be that the weather strip on the bottom of our door was torn in certain places allowing them easy access.
5. Maintenance constantly leaves the garden hose across our walkway. Even after days of being unused. My boyfriend tripped and sprained his ankle on it one day. While their insurance agent was doing an investigation to see if they were liable, they were magically able to keep it off the walkway. After his decision came through, the hose ended up on the walkway again.
6. The leasing office hired a power washing company. They did not go around our building completely, so our entryway still looks super dirty.
7. Our oven was constantly not getting up to temperature. We put in several tickets to maintenance and each time they came out, they would deny an issue. We finally reached out to the leasing office and were given a new oven.
8. Our new oven was absolutely FILTHY and covered in grease/oil. The leasing office sent out a cleaning crew when we complained, but that should never have been delivered like that in the first place.
9. And finally, the cherry on top... They are now conducting R.A.P.I.D. (Realizing Accelerated Profits in Re-Development) renovations mid-lease. So, rather than waiting until people's leases are up, we have to pack up and move all of our loose items so they can install new kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, flooring, and more. Just so they jack up rates for new residents and existing residents alike. (Sure, updated stuff is nice but giving me a lease renewal offer that is $200/month more than I currently pay is a joke).
