Our experience has been nothing short of terrible since we've moved here. From jump, the heater didn't work. These apartment's look nice. Everything seems well kept until you move in and start to notice all the hidden things like unsealed doors and windows, mold growth in the windows and vents, ice and snow in your apartment due to the poor seals. You notice half the outlets don't work, the things on the wall that have been painted over instead of removed. We've been here about a month and have... only had troubles. The only reason I'm even giving 2 stars is because maintenance is kind, quick, and helpful.

Terrible customer service
Do not live here. I would rather live at Willow Creek than to live here and have them take all my money. They tack on bogus charges when you move out. They have you fill out a form when you first move in to write how your appliances/apartments looked but they don’t bring that to when you check out of your apartment: then they try to charge you hundreds of dollars for something that you didn’t do but you can’t prove because they didn’t bring the form. They also have the worst customer service.... Every time you walk in whether it’s to get a package or asks question they just look st you like you’re bothering them. Plus the gates are always broken and they don’t take care of the property. Do yourselves a favor and spend the same amount of money somewhere else that is nicer and has better workers who won’t try to take all of your money!!!

Disapointed loyal resident
I've experienced better. The staff needs to work on their professionalism and attitude. The maintenance can never figure out why my heat/air doesn't work half the time. There have a few months where my electric bill was doubled the amount due to the their heat/air issues. The wooden fence along the back should have been replaced last year when it was mentioned by management. The fence isn't sturdy and can damage cars at any moment if we get a wind storm. The trash service should be optional... since the company that is responsible for picking up the trash isn't reliable. The gates don't work properly. I'm paying for a gated community and I'm not getting it.

Nice apartment complex
Avana midwest is a gated complex. Our rent for a three bedroom and two bath is currently a little above $1,000. It's a nice apartment and includes a living and dining area along with a kitchen and even a laundry room area. There's also balconies and the complex is pet friendly. They having parking garages for an extra cost. Also included is a community pool and gym area. They are very helpful when it comes to problems in the apartment that need to be fixed. The only negative side is you only... have one day to pay rent and after that they include a late fee and give you an eviction notice which is unreasonable. Location is great, it's right outside OKC.

Has changed for the worse
I have lived at Avana Midwest for a few years now. I have seen the property change hands to Greystar, and unfortunately there have been some negative changes since that time. The most frustrating change has been the apartment management. Greystar has stripped the manager of almost all power and she and her assistants are not much more than pencil pushers who make excuses for the "rules". Greystar reduced the number of employees available in the office, so there is often a long wait to be helped... and the staff is spread too thin. Many requests are not responded to or followed up. I made a request a few days ago in person and I was told by the assistant Hannah, that she would follow up, OR I should just come back. I found that to be extremely unprofessional, and as it turned out, I did have to come back because she didn't follow up. Our rent has increased over 20% in three years, although we have faithfully paid rent on time each month and taken excellent care of our apartment. Between the increases in rent, various fees, and the unreliable valet trash, Greystar has been nickel and diming us ever since they bought this place. It has been very frustrating. Additionally, when we signed our initial lease, residents were able to use the clubhouse after-hours for private gatherings. That is no longer the case, which is a huge loss of value to me. Otherwise, the apartment itself is fine. It's nicer than most places in Midwest City, which isn't saying much, but it does have a dishwasher and washer/dryer. The pool is kept fairly clean, and the maintenance crew does a rather excellent job of keeping things clean and well-maintained on the grounds. I have the highest praise for the maintenance team, who do their job with professionalism, despite the poor example and leadership of the management team. The gated entry is often broken or inoperable, which is likely the fault of residents and mistreatment of the gates by residents, but inoperable nonetheless and not providing the security it is intended for (a perk that generates extra rent, undeservedly). All-in-all, I feel very frustrated and taken advance of. I believe in a landlord-renter relationship that offers mutual respect...but, in my experience, renters at Avana are treated like numbers.
