Yukon Heights Apartments

New owners. Like dealing with a machine. They just want your money and don’t care about the tenants. Not worth it! I’ve lived here going on 10 years. It’s been great till now.

Beginning July 1st, new owners/managers/maintenance staff took over this complex and to say they've been impressive is an understatement. During that time (a month and a half at this writing) I've had two air conditioning issues and an ongoing problem with roaches that has existed long before they arrived. Each time they had someone on the air conditioning problems within an hour of my reporting them. And when the existing unit was deemed old and worn out, they ordered a new one that day and it… was installed by noon the next business day. They've also told everyone that they're going to get rid of the roaches. Toward that end they had my unit sprayed, and when that didn't work, the asst. manager, Amber, came up to my apartment that same day with a pump style sprayer and went through all my cabinets and drawers, doing a much more thorough and effective job than the exterminator did. Then, after I blocked all the holes I could find in the walls, I was still getting some roaches, and I determined that they must be coming from under and around the dishwasher. I mentioned that to Amber and she made up a work order on the spot, and a few days later Rafael (sp?), the maintenance man, came in to work on the problem. He slid the dishwasher out, vacuumed up all the roaches and droppings he could see using a large wet/dry vac, and crouched down under the counter to get to the areas around the hot water tank as well as the dishwasher. Then he applied spray primer to cover whatever might have remained of their leavings, and once it was dry he squirted roach killing powder all around the hot water tank and the dishwasher area. And then when done, he left me a spray can of stuff that kills roaches and prevents reinfestation for up to six months. The complex is also going to have roach killing dust sprayed inside the walls to eradicate the roaches for keeps, and this is to happen with the next several weeks. I know this has been a long review but I just wanted to make sure prospective new tenants know that the problems that have always plagued this place are now being handled with integrity and determination by our new and truly professional management and maintenance staff. This place is infested with roaches. Also, it takes forever to get them to fix something in your apartment. They would either take forever to fix stuff or they wouldn't even bother fixing it. We had leaks and water damage from the leaks. The ceiling in our bathroom was caving in and they knew about it and didn't even fix it. We moved out and it still wasn't fixed.

They don't tell you when your leasing that smoking will go thru walls or vents and for people that are none smokers and have kids with terrible allergies and asthma is not ok. Regret so much leasing here.
