Horribly Dishonest Management and Rude, Loud Neighbors
I have attempted to leave a review 3 times, but Apartments.com has blocked this review. DO NOT MOVE TO RIVERPLACE.
Management attempted to charge us $700 for cleaning *after* we moved out (we broke our lease, costing $2800 as well), which included 39 days of utilities starting from the date we moved out until the bill for cleaning. The bill included a $165 carpet cleaning and $200 "deep" cleaning, to neither of which did our pet deposit of $150 nor security deposit go.
Moreover, the neighbors... are loud and inconsiderate. You can hear every sound your upstairs neighbors make, AS WELL AS YOUR DOWNSTAIRS NEIGHBORS. The FLOORS are paper thin. We could hear laughter, tv shows, DOGS BARKING at 7am and 11pm.
We attempted to communicate how obnoxious playing with your big dog on the third floor at midnight is to our upstairs neighbor, and she denied ever doing so. We spend 3 months trying to get management to do something about that neighbor angrily stomping at us because we kept reporting her for obnoxious music and slamming doors, but management never wanted to see videos of evidence and did not care.
The seed spraying factory nearby operates an HVAC air system ALL NIGHT 24/7, which rumbles the entire neighborhood. Our beds would shake and vibrate all night long, and our neighbors would wake up at 6am. We did not sleep, and management did not enforce any sort of quiet hours EVER.
Cars cruise around the roundabout at various times throughout the day/night playing music for hours, although this isn't as bad as your upstairs neighbor being allowed to have a dog on the third floor above you.
The actual employees who work here are incredible people, but it is clear that management is using this property as a cash cow and are milking it dry without putting in any effort. This property has been around since 2015 and has never been updated or maintained. They are selling the park behind it, even, so they are hurting for money.
DO NOT MOVE HERE, avoid it at all costs. Monmouth has some great apartment options, even further into Independence is fine, but NOT Riverplace. The buildings are wooden frames, so you hear everything
