No Major Complaints
I've been living at Beverly Grove with my partner, our three roommates, and our two pets for about two years now. Before the recent renovations, we lived in a one bedroom in the main part of the apartment complex. We have since moved to a separate, duplex-like situation that is much, much, much better in terms of cleanliness and general appearance. All the renovated apartments are pretty stylish (my favorite detail is the cool faux wood floors), but they definitely lose points for poor cabinet... arrangements and a generally crappy paint job (they painted over cobwebs, left streaks of different colored paint around, didn't fix paint drips, etc.). The apartment complex itself is generally quiet and although we've had some safety concerns in the past (our van was stolen out of the parking lot), the new manager is now installing better lighting and cameras that make me feel safer. There are multiple laundry rooms to use around the complex, so it's usually very easy to find open machines. Each apartment is assigned a space or two, depending on the size of your unit, and you are able to pay a monthly fee for an additional space. And, in terms of pets, I think the rules are pretty reasonable. There are weight restrictions and you are expected to clean up after your dog.
My favorite thing about Beverly Grove is the location; it's right next to Fred Meyer, WinCo, Starbucks (very important), McDonalds, and there are Indian, Russian, Asian, and vegan groceries nearby. The MAX is about a 15 minute walk.
My only complaint is the lack of community. I would love to see a little free library and a community bulletin board. I live next to all these people, but don't feel like I really know any of them or have a means to do so.
