    Endless maintenance issues

    I have lived at the Republic since August 2022 and have had continuous maintenance issues that make's the building a difficult place to live comfortably. During summer heatwaves there were multiple occasions the AC broke and took days to repair. From ~September to December the hot water rarely worked.

    The worst part of living here has been the awful insulation in the building and specifically the windows. Even with the windows completely closed you can feel cold air streaming into the    … apartment. It's very difficult to stay warm in the apartment, despite the heat being on and resulting in a procey monthly elextrical bill.

    Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to report that the malfunctioning circulating pump that effected hot water supply last fall has been replaced, and hot water is consistently flowing through the building. The malfunction was caused by a… blackout in this area of Philadelphia, and our receipt and replacement of the part were unfortunately delayed by significant supply chain issues. We acquired The Republic late last summer with the intent of making upgrades to improve your quality of life, and the issues you have mentioned are informing our investment plans for the property through 2023 and beyond.
