DO NOT LIVE HERE

A month ago I would have suggested living at 930 Nomo, but now I have experienced more problems that have never been resolved. The staff while touring will tell you false information regarding monthly bills. Then when the issue came up three staff members told me more wrong information causing me to be penalized with late fees when I was told by three staff members "do not pay your bill since it seems something is not right. They wont shut off your electricity". This bill issue took a month to... even get a real response on and was not corrected. They include extra charges as well that are not included in your lease. I would never suggest living here especially for the price you are paying for many reasons. Such as a terrible quality apartment. I had multiple holes in the wall and door and marks around the apartment when I moved in. Something is ALWAYS BROKEN and including all the gates that are suppose to make the place "safe". The elevators constantly had trash and dog pee or poop in them. The halls are stained with dog pee, spilt drinks, and throw up stains. I put in four maintenance request and they only completed one of those request, but marked them as all completed. Another HUGE issue i had was this is suppose to be student housing. I would wake up to the sound of babies crying and see multiple full families living there or even middle age people that are most definitely not students! Yes, the staff is very friendly, but they do not know what they are talking about and do not do their jobs correctly! The reviews that are positive are all very incorrect. Those people obviously have not lived here long enough or have no standards at all. I obtained all these problems in the short three month period I lived here. They most likely know that their apartments are a rip off thats why they now are giving giftcards in return for facebook likes, instagram follows, and reviews.

So Far, So Good

Since the beginning of my lease this August, it's been going really well. I had to figure out the shuttle schedule because a lot of the residents use it but other than that, I have not run into any major issues. The food events are fun and they throw the best apartment parties in Charleston. The prices are definitely not $800 like mentioned in a review I read but I actually leased here because it was better pricing than other apartment options. No complaints right now. They are doing a good job.

DO NOT LIVE HERE

Any review that you read on here that is positive, I can assure you is not real. This place is horrible. The building seems to be made out of cardboard/cheap materials. It's located on a marsh, which they advertise as a positive... wait until you are covered in mosquito and bug bites! Even worse, there are consistent fire alarms/tests and you'll be outside half naked swarmed by bugs!! Also, this location is several miles away from any of the college campuses & the "free" shuttle is 100%... unreliable, so you NEED a car to live here (no bikes, the area is too dangerous to bike from next to interstate). The garage cost extra, and it's not worth it bc the gates are ALWAYS broken and turning left out of the complex is IMPOSSIBLE with rush hour traffic. You can enter the property easily as the pedestrian gates are ALWAYS broken too. Cars are broken into, there are no security cameras. the elevators are ALWAYS broken too, so if you live on a high floor (that you pay extra for), you are screwed. Not that I wanted to take the elevator anyways, I saw puke in it MULTIPLE TIMES and in the hallways. There is loud music/people 24/7 and the security is not helpful, Nomo throws complex wide parties with LOUD music where randoms are not only allowed to enter, they are INVITED. However, there is NO guest parking (unless you get 1 of like 5 guest passes), and your friends will be towed!! Police are there frequently, but not because security calls-- the area is full of crime, despite the attempted gentrification. The entire complex smells horrible, and you virtually can't walk down a hallway without smelling marijuana. Such a shame, there is no professional management. They need to be more selective with renters and introduce stricter policy... did I mention I have seen people with kids living there? HOW?? Each lease is ONE person PER bedroom...but this is definitely now followed. I say only live here as a VERY VERY VERY Last resort. If you have a car and are already this far away from campus, just move off the peninsula... it would be cheaper and you'd be MUCH happier. I know downtown housing is competitive, but this is the LAST place you'd want to live. I'd rather live in a 200 year old house than here again.

Love Living Here!

This place rocks! The gym is 24/7 and the pool is huge. My biggest enjoyment with living here is the parking cost is low and the shuttle downtown rocks.

Life at 930 NoMo

Things have been great since I started living downtown at 930 NoMo. They're always putting on events, offering free food, there is a Starbucks coffee machine in the clubhouse not to mention the apartments are beautiful. I've made a ton of new friends since living here & have already renewed my lease. You can't beat the price for downtown living.
